[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love the new cooktop! The touch screen is easy to use, it heats up quickly, and is simple to keep clean.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This was my first time using induction although I already had the correct cookware. I was using an older Jenn Air electric cooktop but wanted the speed and convenience of gas without the health risks and high cost. The Kitchen Aid is wonderful. It has taken me a while getting used to the speed, since you can't put a pot of water on to boil then do something else for 10 minutes while it boils. So, I have to arrange the meal sequence to fit the cooktop speed. The food cooks beautifully, the clean-up is a breeze especially with the exhaust screen going in the dishwasher, and the burner is only warm to the touch afterwards. It is very quiet except for the exhaust fan, and that is automatic but can be turned off or down. The exhaust fan is the strongest one I have ever worked with. No scratches so far and we both love the no knobs and no rim look. I did have a 3.5-inch steel bottom saucepan that the cooktop would not consistently recognize, but I had larger ones I could use.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’m so excited to try this new cooktop!! All I can say now is the glass is very shiny, looks beautiful couldn’t do the installation by myself but once it’s done it instantly upgraded my kitchen super modern. Easy to clean, temperature control is precise, it heats up fast! So far that’s the only thing I can say I will use more and come back if any changes to keep you guys updated!!
We bought this cooktop after hearing great things about induction. Our prior cooktop was also a Kitchenaid, but was a standard electric model. Induction does work great and heats quickly and evenly. Our issue is with the general quality of this product, especially given the price. Within two days of installation the cooktop is scratched from normal use; we didn't have issues like this with our last cooktop. The quality of the ceramic is poor and I'm concerned that within a year it's going to look terrible. The user interface is also poorly designed. The touch interface doesn't come close to the ease of use of modern technology. When you touch it doesn't always register, and the layout is not great. My wife and I both work in tech and expect better for such. high priced appliance (I work in software engineering, she's on the design side). This cooktop has ensured that our next stove will be gas with knobs and not Kitcheaid.
