A bit bulkier, but good otherwise

Compared to my prior Shokz, these are a bit bulkier, but good otherwise.
I love the ease with which I can connect and alternate listening between my three devices, I love the long battery life, and that the sound is less drowned out by outside noise. I would have liked if the ends were a bit flatter and less bulky, more like the prior ones I had.

A win for situational awareness

When there’s noise, like cars, it can over power the headphones and that’s GREAT!!!
I need to hear the cars to stay safe. These work exactly as I’d hoped they would.
Listening to music, books, and podcasts makes running better for me. Not hearing cars, dogs, coyotes, etc it’s dangerous.
These give me my wanted noise without endangering me

A different Experience

At first, the Shoks OPENAIR PRO 2 need to be gotten used to. From the old over-ear headphones that punch your ears with massive vibrations, and the ear-buds which tickle your ear canals, and irritate them, these are a very different thing altogether. With the Shoks OPENAIR PRO 2, you literally hear the sound INSIDE your head. Adjusting them to the right spot on your jaw is the first challenge, and making sure your audio levels are set right, are the only thing that stands in the way of amazing-ness. Once you get setup, it's real fun, and hi-fidelity. The only complaint I have is the microphone, apparently, my calls sound like I am in a metal cage, and the multi-device switching is tricky, and lastly, I am trying to figure out how to get an alert for an incoming call to be better.

Great sound better bass but..

Sounds great and the bass is better than previous models, however the reliance now on non bone conduction speakers makes their usefulness to people doing loud tasks with ear plugs in distinctly lower than the previous model. USB c charging is a nice touch to minimize the number of chargers but I generally charged in the car while driving and it isn’t easier to hook them up

It really is uncanny. I enjoy hiking and running but I still want to be able to hear what is around me. The OpenRun Pro 2 headphones allow me to do that. Hiking or running or biking, it doesn't matter. I'm able to keep them on and hear what I need to hear. I live in a cold climate as well and I can still have a beanie and glasses on and it still works alright.

Perfect design

I bought the mini first. Loved it. Then bought this one for my wife. She loved it too. Many reviewers complained that at top volume the sound is a bit distorted. True. But since we don’t need it a top volume, it’s really just perfect for us. And we both dislike plugging things into our ears. So the open ear design is great.
