Size too Large

Unfortunately due to its size , I was unable to lock it on my Enve computer mount. I had to go with a smaller computer.

A lot of money for a bell

I sold my Garmin 1030 and bought the 1050. I love the bell. Graphic display is much easier to read and most of my gear transferred over automatically.

Great display

Upgraded from a 1030 based on reviews of the display - exceeded expectations. Also nice is the faster processor and longer battery life. Do not like having to use Garmin Connect to upload routes from RWGPS. I do not use any of the training functions so those are all turned off.

Great Screen, snappy Processor
on August 10, 2024

I’ve ridden three rides for 150 miles. I really like the visibility of the screen. Post ride downloads to Garmin Connect seem quicker and more reliable. The screen menus are customizable on the 1050, instead of having to use Garmin Connect on a cell phone. So far I find the interface to be intuitive and user friendly. The bell is a nice feature, but I haven’t found it to be intuitive or reliable. Sweaty hands on a touch screen may not activate it in a timely fashion. It works, and its neat but I always have a traditional bell that I can ring more easily. Haven’t used it at night yet. The form factor fits all my original mounts, which is a relief that I didn’t have to remount for space. Great Job Garmin.

Just like the Edge 840 Only Better..

So why buy the 1050, when I already have the edge 840? Its the Bell Baby, well and a lot of other things. Getting older I appreciate the clarity in the display and the larger working area. Is it that much better than the 840? Yes it is.. The one caveat was when I transferred my sensors over. The Varia Radar needed to be removed and re-paired with the unit. Everything else paired up nicely first run time and even my training page layouts were transferred over.. Sweet..!!! FWIW: I've been a Garmin Edge user all the way back to the Edge 500 until it basically quit working. LOL. Hope the 1050 is as bombproof.

Nice upgrade

I’ve had a Wahoo Roam since they came out but wanted to change to Garmin to be in the same family and app as my fenix. Used for road and gravel I’m liking the 1050 but it’s taking allot of tinkering to get the setup I want. Love the big easy to read screen in all light levels. One of the biggest advantages over wahoo is it doesn’t beep and pause because I’m climbing so slow it thinks I stopped.

Awesome instructions

Latest state of the art for bicycle navigation. I’m old and there is a bit of a learning curve but my 7 year old grandchild taught me how to use it.

Amazing GPS

The colorful and clear directions is probably the best feature. I come from having an 830 which was awesome except that I would miss turns due to unclear some of the turns were displayed. This is so bright and vivid. Haven’t missed a turn yet.
The bell feature which was supposed to be the cherry on top, since I live in a densely populated area, is very low.
Being able to let people know the hazards on the road is a plus. I’ve used this extensively for potholes and flooding in my area.
It’s much faster at loading maps than my previous 830.
The credit card feature is not yet available with my bank, therefore I have not been able to take advantage of it yet.
