Great Speaker!

The Soundlink Home is a great speaker. It has a wonderful sleek look, the perfect size, crisp clean sound, and well balanced bass. I love to listen to music all day, and it fits perfectly on my desk. The Bluetooth range is impressive, and the charging cord is double the length than other Bose speakers, which is a plus. The only downfall, in my opinion, is this speaker can only pair with another Soundlink Home speaker. I own a Flex Soundlink that I would have loved to pair it with. Nonetheless, this is a great speaker to have.

The design is familiar to more of a home setting. Although it looks great anywhere, it fits best into a contemporary style interiors. The speaker works best at 80% volume. This is where the balance of the bass and treble compliments one another. The bass sound signature is more of the traditional bose bookshelf speaker but in a waves tube like eq. It pushes deep lows that you won't find in any other speaker this size. The highs are detailed an crispy. The sound at max volume is comparable to the flex in paired mode. It's impressive for it's size. Just needs a longer usb cable and a wall adapter would be a nice finishing touch.

I love the shape and design of the speaker making it easy to blend to any space. The small details such as matching charging cable that gown down at 90 degrees instead of going straight out is a winner in my book. Don’t let the size of the speaker fool you because it packs a hefty punch. The only con I had about the speaker is that even though it is a soundlink home it is not able to pair with any other soundlink devices.

Bose's most elegant speaker

When I first unpackaged the speaker I was met with a gorgeous, machined silver speaker. It's design broke out of its common theme with previous SoundLink speakers of cylindrical shapes and rounded edges. I do appreciate the new rectangular shape with it's own unique base as a stand. The machine finish circling around the speaker looks very nice along with the cloth material on the front and back, it all blends in very beautifully. As far as the quality of the music, it sounds really nice and crisp. I took this speaker and placed it in my garage for a few days for some workout sessions and played some variety of hip-hop/rap, rock, alternative and I was very happy with the quality of it!
A cool feature I really like is that you could purchase a pair of 2 of these bad boys and hook them up for a Left and Right setup. One thing to note is that they will only pair with another of the same model -- SoundLink Home, and nothing else, other Bose speakers WILL NOT work.
One thing they did have to give up that I noticed is that it is NOT made to be waterproof/dustproof as a lot of their other products. This is why I knocked it for a star. It is promoted and named a home speaker after all and outside so long as it is on a beautiful, dry and sunny day. It's not meant to be out in the elements to that extent like a SoundLink Flex.
Overall, I do think it is a great buy, one of their most, if not most elegant speakers to put front and center for everyone to see inside your home. It is small but still holds its weight against other speakers of similar size. Bose created a very beautiful product with the SoundLink Home speaker.

Big Sound, Small Package

Looking for a quality speaker that can travel with you throughout the house? This speaker blends all the quality of Bose into a portable package. Take it to bathroom while you shower. Bring it to the kitchen for breakfast without missing a beat. Take it to the patio for a nightcap with your spouse. This small speaker creates a wide array of quality sound. I tried it in every room of the house and even my back patio. It sounded great everywhere. It has a small amount of bass but makes up for it with truly great sound in every genre I played. I listen to a wide variety of music depending on my mood. Heavy metal, rock, hip hop, and even a little country on occasion. It did lack some bass in my hip hop songs but still excelled for its size. I do own 2 Bose Flex Speakers and this out performed them on its own. The looks are great and it blends in anywhere I set it down. It comes with Usb-c to usb-a charging cable, charges quickly and the battery lasts a very long time. This is branded as a home speaker so they gave it a cloth front cover and metal framing as opposed to the plastic front of my Flex speakers. This makes it less likely that I will travel with it unless I buy a travel case of some kind but I already have flex models for that. It also is branded as a soundlink speaker but does not cross connect with the flex soundlink models. To link they must be soundlink home series. Not really a problem for my intended use in the house but would have been a nice feature This would be a great addition to a home office, a bedroom tv or really anywhere you want to enhance your audio that doesn’t already have a home theater setup. I am overall very impressed by the sound that comes out of this unit. I love the looks of it and the base/handle is a nice multi function piece to carry it with or set it somewhere to get it off the surface a bit. Nice Work Bose!

For the size of the speaker, the sound it puts out is impressive. Overall this speaker can bump it. I listen to most genres, do audio books, and have shows playing in the background as I go about my day working from home. All of which has sounded pretty great, and a similar experience to spatial audio with the headphones. I live in a smaller house, and while I can hear it through out a level if I crank it up, it can also be played at a decent volume with great bass and not disturb others. (My walls are THIN, very old house).
The design fits with the modern times, while having it's own look. I personally love the speakers design. For my taste, it has a sophistication that other small home speakers do not have. I also think the design helps with how nice the bass is. Since the actual speaker is elevated, it's safe from accidents, which is doubly nice with the fabric cover. It's easy to move around the house, so I don't need to have a dedicated speaker in each room. My concern for the future is how well the materials hold up as it's carried around, hopefully as good as other portable Bose products.
It's easy to connect to Bluetooth, don't need to hassle with an app (a plus in my book) and isn't a smart speaker even though it has a microphone (another plus in my book). I had no problem with connecting multiple devices and switching between them for use, this includes switching between Android and Apple products.
The one down side is at lower volumes/more quite recordings there's a crackle noise (which, hopefully will get fixed soon since it's a new product). In my experience it's only noticeable if you're right next to speaker, so I did not notice it at first as I don't place my speakers that close to me in general.
For me personally, the pros outway the cons.

Hello, thanks for leaving your review of the SoundLink Home speaker. It's fantastic to hear how you've incorporated it into your home and how you have enjoyed the design and sound quality.
You made reference to a crackle noise at lower volumes. This isn't something we're familiar with, so if you wish to discuss this further, we'd invite you to reach out to tell us more about the problem. https://bose.life/3ET4mCs. In the meantime, I'd suggest pairing with other devices, relocate the speaker to a different surface, and try other music services to see if the problem continues.

I’m a longtime Bose fan and I have to say, there’s a lot to love about the Soundlink Home. Its design is simplistic yet pleasing, it feels like it can fit in on any shelf, stand, or table in the house. The weight gives it a nice, sturdy feel, especially when paired with the metal chassis; it’s something I really appreciate. Visually it’s all good, but how does it stand up on the stuff that actually matters? You know, the sound! I was very satisfied with the audio, the vibrancy was fantastic and the overall quality didn’t disappoint at all. It really has a good balance of sound quality to overall size of the speaker, and then some! I was shocked with how good the bass in particular was, I didn’t expect it to be able to produce it so well. All this packed in with the lengthy battery life makes for a very solid portable home speaker. Turn it on and go about your day, it’ll still be doing its best by the end of it. All in all I recommend the Soundlink Home whole-heartedly, it really is a good speaker.

Soundlink Home exceeds my expectations.

The Soundlink Home Bluetooth speaker exceeded expectations. This is a relatively small speaker, but I was amazed at its ability to fill a room with music. I can really crank up the volume with this speaker and I like the bass that comes through. I use it in my home office (although it’s easily portable) and I feel it fits perfectly fits my purpose. I sometimes want to jam out to music, but I may also may switch to listening to training material or audio books. The sound is quite crisp and clear. I am the kind of person who likes to multitask, so I like the portability and lightweight of the speaker so I can take music (or whatever) with me through the house without any interruptions. Despite its small size, it can crank out music quite well. I might like it even more if the sound quality at very low volume was as superior as the mid to upper volume range (although I don’t listen to very low volume often). A carrying case might be nice too. I think I’ll get a second speaker so I can pair them and check out the stereo sound for larger rooms too.
