New mounting system is garbage. I had to return mine because it didn’t work as the tolerances were off.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Thank you for sharing your experience with the Wyze Duo Cam Pan’s mounting system. We’re truly sorry to hear that the new design didn’t meet your expectations and that the tolerances caused issues serious enough to require a return. Your feedback is very important to us, and insights like yours help us continue improving our products.
The Wyze Duo Cam Pan is designed for versatile indoor and outdoor use, but we understand that mounting issues can negatively impact that experience. If you haven’t already, please reach out to our Wizards team so we may help diagnose the issue or explore replacement options: https://support.wyze.com/hc/en-us.
We appreciate you taking the time to let us know what went wrong, and we’re here if you need any further assistance.
Pan cams helped to cover blind spots outside my house. Getting Pan Scan of WayPoints to work reliably on 2 of the cameras was a struggle, as the Pan cam would get disoriented within hours. Deleting the Waypoints, recalibrating the camera and setting up the same Waypoint viewing positions kept getting disoriented so I finally made many attempts using different Waypoint viewing positions and reducing the number of Waypoints, which eventually led to reliable Pan scanning. (Those 2 Pan cams are mounted higher on the house and have a little more downward tilt, which may have contributed to the initial Pan scanning problems.)
I would recommend this to a friend!

Hi there,
Thank you for sharing your experience, and I’m sorry for the frustration you had getting the Pan Scan of Waypoints to work reliably. I know it can be tricky when cameras get disoriented.
Here are a few steps you can try in the Wyze app to improve Pan scanning reliability: Recalibrate the camera – Wyze app > select your Pan Cam > Settings gear > Advanced Settings > Recalibrate. Reduce the number of Waypoints – Sometimes, fewer Waypoints help the camera maintain orientation. Adjust camera tilt – Slightly adjust the tilt to ensure the camera has a clear line of sight for all Waypoints. Restart the camera – Wyze app > select your Pan Cam > Settings gear > Restart Device.
If you have not, please reach out to our Wizards team (https://support.wyze.com/hc/en-us) so we may help diagnose the issue. Please include as much detail as possible. Thank you!
