Beautiful, Comfortable, & Simplistic

Overall, one of the best - if not, the best - looking tea kettles on the market. The feel of the kettle, the aesthetic, the feel, all excellent. The temperature/power knob feels solid and sturdy. Why I was surprised about how flimsy the toggles for hold and C°/F° feel. Granted, you don’t touch or see them often so after initial setup I forget about that. What I would love to see in the future are presets added. Perhaps 2-4 programmable buttons. I usually switch between 165° for Matcha and 212° for herbal teas and scrolling between those two numbers is a tad annoying. Lastly, it’s expensive. Way above most on the market. If other manufacturers start making more visually appealing kettles then they will have some real competition.

Inconsistent

The original kettle I bought had a weird bright spot on the screen on the base unit. Additionally, there was a strange error with the base unit after a few months that made it unusable. Fellow was fortunately GREAT about replacing it quickly, and with no fuss. The new unit they sent me no longer has the issue with the screen, but now the lid of the pitcher itself is so loose that it falls off if I turn the kettle too far forward while pouring. This wasn't an issue with the old kettle. Seems like they have a lot of manufacturing inconsistencies they need to iron out....

Broken Out of the Box

The display on the base did not power on right out of the box. Such a disappointment for the price of this item. I am no longer on team Fellow!

This kettle made me a believer
on October 1, 2024

I was on the fence about buying a kettle, but this has made me a believer. I specifically picked it because there’s no plastic parts inside that touch the water. Plus, it’s easy to use, heats up quickly, and makes tea time feel like a soothing ritual. And it doesn’t hurt that it looks beautiful sitting on my counter. The wood handle is worth the extra cost. Highly recommend.
(If you don’t know, there’s a Snake game you can play directly on your kettle! Super fun Easter egg.)

more plastic than expected

was a little disappointed in the quality of the product for how much it is—there is a lot more plastic than I’d like and sometimes it has an unpleasant plastic-y smell. otherwise great!

Corvo EKG Pro Studio: Great with some minor flaws
on February 19, 2025

Overall, this is an excellent kettle. It heats water very quickly (faster than our older Corvo) and to an accurate temperature. It pours very well for an electric kettle as well. I use this primarily for tea and it is perfect for those purposes. I do wish it was a full 1.0 liter instead of 0.9 liters, but that is a minor complaint. I have the EKG Pro Studio edition, and the reason for taking off a star is because of the clock. While it's great to be able to set a timer to have water ready first thing in the morning, the clock does not hold an accurate time at all, so I have to reset the time on the clock every evening. This would be a relatively easy fix with better use of the WiFi and the app, which is why it's so disappointing that they haven't done anything about this. But overall I consider this a minor issue for what is otherwise an amazing product. As a bonus it also looks great!

Okay for the price

The real test is whether it breaks after a year or two like every other kettle I've owned both name-brand and not. For this price I expect it needs to survive until I die; and if it does then it gets an extra star. That said, I have some picky design issues:
The kettle is small, which wouldn't be as much of an issue if it were easier to refill (see below)
The lid is very snug. This makes it a bother to return water after warming your mugs. Also, when it finally pops open it will spray drops of near-100° condensate around.
After a couple weeks I'm still not used to its "hold" behavior: you must explicitly click to turn off the kettle. Other kettles turn off after you lift from the base. That's obviously a limitation of how other kettles are made, but I think it's also better UX. Maybe I'll get used to Fellow's way.
I'm near sea level, but it still pumps excessive heat into the water when holding at 100°, even after calibration. That's an issue because all kettles are noisy when they run at full heat (but also because it's a waste of energy). It's got a microcontroller and PID algorithms, so I expect it to be smart enough to detect the cliff when energy goes to boiling rather than heating. You can work around this issue by lying about your altitude.
I wish the scheduler would remember the last time you used instead of starting you from 12:00am every time.

Bad alarm
on April 8, 2025

I bought this model because it had an alarm when the water was warm. The alarm is so quiet that the only way you can hear it is if you're standing right next to it, it might as well not even be an alarm.
