Nice idea but could be better.

I love the idea but it doesn’t add enough litter. It’s constantly too low which makes more of a mess. I bought 2 hoppers but don’t really use them . I end up adding litter everyday

Seems intimidating to install but it's not

I put off buying one of these because I watched the video of the installation and it seemed more involved than I was willing to do. But eventually I got tired of refilling the Litter Robot myself, so I caved and bought a hopper. It's actually not as bad to install as I thought it would be, took me about 15 minutes. For me the hardest part was figuring out I needed to manually add the hopper in the add in order for it to function. But now that I have it, I love it! My cat has definitely been happier since I've bought this whole setup for her.

Helpful accessory

The litter hopper is a helpful accessory to the extent that it cuts the number of times you have to add fresh litter to the unit by a factor of four or five. That said, it requires about as much effort to keep the hopper filled as it does to keep the Litter-Robot itself filled. The hopper adds litter to the working litter supply as it drops from cycling clumped litter into the waste tray. I generally topped up the litter when I emptied the waste tray before I got the hopper. Actually, I still do this from time to time as the hopper doesn't keep the unit as full as I normally like. It keeps it at about 2/3rds capacity. The cats seem to prefer it to be a bit deeper than that, and I don't see a way to adjust the level settings to accomplish that with the hopper. Also, the Hopper activity log fills from the top down; so you have to scroll the list to get to the most current activity. Logically this should be filled in with the newest activity at the top of the log - as is the case with all of the other system an

Doesn’t work

Brand new out of the box and our unit refuses to work. Constant error messages about the motor being disconnected and no amount of troubleshooting gets it to work. Our new litter robot works fine but the litter hopper is worse than a paper weight.

Hopper Hood Doesn't Fit Correctly

I have been a Whisker/Litter Robot customer for many years and have absolutely loved all of their products (Litter Robots 3 & 4, Feeder Robot, Litter Tracking Pad, etc) and have had NO issues with any of their products until I recently ordered the "Litter Hopper" to attach to my existing Litter Robot 4. First of all, when I initially attempted to install the new litter hopper 4 hood to my litter hopper 4, it didn't fit correctly / didn't snap in tightly like it should. I then noted although the litter Robot was cycling, no litter was being added by the hopper. Long-story-short, after multiple onboarding then disabling & onboarding again several times daily (even resorted to taping the hood so it stayed fitting tightly with no gaps), I am still having same issues daily. I have even ordered their carpet stabilizer pad to see if that helps!

Added hopper to my litter robot and really like it. Seems to have improved functionality, reduced sticking and it more efficiently fills the waste bin.
My only criticism is that the two plastic snap fingers which snap onto the anti tip part are too fragile and easily damaged.
Otherwise nice design!
