Not the experience I expected

The idea of the litter hopper in theory makes so much sense, however, since we received ours, we have been having so many issues. My husband and I travel a lot for work and I bought the hopper to make our lives easier while we are away, however, since installation it has been nothing but a headache. We followed all setup instructions carefully and have the Litter Robot placed in a spot that is free of any walls or obstacles. Every couple days we receive the same error message of "Motor disconnected" and I have to clean it and reset it. We actually have gone back to the regular bonnet to avoid all the issues. I hope all the bugs get worked out because I still love the idea of a litter hopper despite our experience with it.

It's ok...

It took far too long to actually get it to work. The interface with the litter robot is very finicky. There were times when I would have to jostle the unit to get it to make contact and actually work.
On top of that, I recently switched to using a dust free litter (Arm&Hammer Platinum Slide) so this may play into this, but when dispensing it tunnels out a hole in the litter leaving a good portion on the side of the hopper. A little vibration during the dispensing might help, but it also might disconnect the unit given how touchy it is to actually working.
It actually does keep the litter topped up though, when it's available. So I give all the credit to the software side of this. The hardware just needs some work.

Love having the hopper. Im on oxygen and anything to make my life easier and cleaner is a big plus . I enjoy the convenience of it enough that i purchased one for my daughtet and her cats.

Another Excellent Addition

I recently bought the Litter Hopper. I'm not sure how I survived without the Litter Robot to begin with. This is just one more thing that makes my life easier. I know its replacing the simple task of just adding more litter when the robot is low but it's even nicer to know that my only task these days is to swap out the litter bag periodically. The amount of time saved and the convenience of not having to clean the box every day is invaluable. I love this thing.

What a relief!

Works wonderfully, relieving us from the dreaded chore of scooping, scooping, scooping. Our kittens think it’s a toy, so often, when it begins the cleaning cycle they jump in. The robot immediately stops and waits until the coast is clear to finish the cycle. It dutifully sends us messages on the Whispers app, letting us know about each interruption and each completed cycle. The messages as to when to empty the drawer is also helpful - and so easy to do! Btw, be sure to get the litter hopper with the robot - another chore eliminated.

Motor Jammed

I like the Litter Robot. I have occasional errors like it’s not level. But I keep getting the error message of the motor jammed. Not happy with the mess involved with clearing the jam every few cycles. Not worth the cost of the purchase

Life Even Easier

Adding this litter hooper to my LR4 was best decision. I no longer waste litter with my attempts to keep the LR4 filled properly. Well worth adding this accessory.

Good buy, expensive purchase tho

The hopper is cool, I wish it held more but it does do it's job and dispenses when necessary. We have 3 cats and it took a while to get used to the litter robot but after 3 weeks everyone uses it well.
We purchased the yellow pirina litter box and it's heavy so pouring it into the hopper is a bit of a chore I've been trying to figure out a mess-free way to add litter. The opening of the hopper is large but litter is always stuck between the hopper and the LR. Of course, the product is expensive from the LR to the hopper to the stairs etc but it works.
