Another step up in automation

This worked very well to further automate the litter box. There are some limitations to which litter types can be used, although most are acceptable. NOTE: I found it was dispensing too much litter! The solution was easy to find when contacting litter robot support--you need to re-calibrate the litter bed sensor (go to litter robot website /support/article/litterhopper-not-dispensing-litter/--go to "Calibrate the optimal litter level"--it is a series of button presses, then you double check that the app reports normal litter levels and it replenishes the litter appropriately). It now works perfectly! Especially useful when on vacation and others are caring for the cats--they can focus on feeding them and playing with them :)

Doesn't keep up.

Great looking unit, very easy install, easy to fill. However. It doesn't keep up with my cat. The level stays pretty consistently 1/2 to 3/4" below the line in my robot. I have manually filled it twice but makes no difference. Firmwear is up to date so not sure what else to do.

Keeping hopper 'active' is cumbersome

I like having it auto-fill when litter runs low, but I find the act of having to keep it activated is cumbersome. I don't have a clear indicator if it needs to be reset or not after changing bags out.

Not worth it

Constant problems. Works once, then have to trouble shoot. Works once time again, then error again. Not worth the hassle.

Enjoy not having to fill up litter

Took awhile for me to get it working but after recalibrating lasers and cleaning them with Q tip it finally started working like it should.

Love the hopper

I was skeptical at first, but now I love the hopper. I bought one to try on one of my three litter robots. I am waiting to see if there is an upcoming sale so that I can buy two more.

I’m so glad we made the decision to upgrade to the hopper! We use a lighter colored litter (worlds best) due to our cat’s allergies. This litter always seems to always be low in the box, which creates messes if not caught in time. But with this upgrade, the litter levels are always maintained properly and it’s a much cleaner environment!
The cats were a bit confused by the new noise at first, but they seem to enjoy watching the whole cleaning and refill process.
