Nice concept, but a couple software bugs and two design changes desperately needed…

Overall the colors and patterns are nice, but sometimes when (from automation) you instruct it to go to a specific percentage, it does this weird thing where it turns on full brightness first then lowers to the programmed level. Other brands of lights don’t have the same bug so it’s clearly a software bug on these lamps.
Also, chrome hasn’t been in style for years, so the use of chrome-plated plastic at the bottom doesn’t match any style. If anything it should either be black or brushed nickel (muted, not glossy). More importantly, it has a motion touch mode for easy turn-on at night (but it’s based on vibration, not contact). Vibration-based makes it unreliable and slow to respond - even with adjusting sensitivity, you’ll have to juggle it or hit it (or the table) several times before it reacts. What would have been far more intelligent would have been to make it touch-sensitive at its base (and not during just a specific time window, but all the time). The controls are on the top, so when in bed you may not be able to target the top easily, but you can easily find the side (hence why touch would have been an intelligent addition). We ended up having to buy (separately) Matter-based remote controls to mount on the bed-side tables, just to offer a reliable control for it when you’re tired.
I also wish the brightness were in the 1200-1500lm range, to truly allow these to be a viable replacement for traditional lamps with an LED bulb).
I hope they fix these design flaws in a new version (though, then I’ll be frustrated that I spent money on these).

I bought this for my man cave and it is a perfect addition to the other Govee lights that I own. It cast a perfect light into dark spaces and with Alexa I have been able to control the man cave group wonderfully. Great addition to my RGB set up!

Quite like this product. If you are looking for a bright light this is not it. It's just enough to make a difference but not standout amongst other lights that are on. H

Very modern design, with easy controls and even advanced controls when controlling it with the Govee app. Another great feature is that you're able to use your Amazon Alexa to control it; without needing a smart plug.Quality build, most of it is made out of metal, while the bottom is a kind of hard plastic. Definitely will last you.Now the brightness i think is perfect. It gets really dark and also bright, but not too bright; perfect for a bedside lamp/night light. Also looks really cool because of the lights on the bottom side are lighter than the top side, (as shown in the photo I've provided.) Gives it a glow effect, kinda looks like a lava lamp. Definitely stands out in a room.All around a great lamp. Heard a lot about the price being a little high but I think it's fair for all that you're getting.
