Difficult assembly

Design engineers deserve a back yard beating. Base is nearly impossible to assemble. It took more tries than a rigged carnival game to get the screws mounted to hold up the base. Screws are tiny, holes are so unreachable even with a magnetic screwdriver holding the screws. Wasted an hour of my life for something that would have taken two minutes if it had only been designed for real human beings with decent DIY level skills to assemble. Even nicked my finger in the process.

Don't know why people bash this fryer. Have had mine for over 6 years. Does a turkey in 2 to 2 1/2 hr's. Does 2 chickens in about the same time. Have used it every year since buying it & cook in it 2 to 3 times a year. It will cook 5 to 6 turkeys on one barbecue size bottle of propane with some gas left over. I use it in cold, windy, rainy and warm weather under my outside pagoda with the same result's each time. Use a long thermometer with a 12" probe to read the temp. Don't leave it stuck in the turkey for you will get a false reading. Short one's will not work for they will give a false reading. Noticed on some of the negative reviews that short one's were used. If frying 2 chickens put the top one in the inner adjustable basket above the bottom chicken and not touching the top of the bottom chicken and they will both get done at the same time. I cook with the wire
lid on because I like the skin a little crispy. Make sure your propane bottle valve is all the way open while frying. I don't understand why anyone would have trouble with this fryer. I also rub my turkey & chickens with Peanut oil inside and out. Then rub on my favorite Cajun spices. My boys have me fry them turkeys and chickens for Christmas every year for their families.

I don’t normally give reviews but after seeing someone post about having rubbery skin on their turkey and chicken, I had to. I have used my fryer several times now to fry a turkey. I’ve fried them outside when the temperature has been between 25-30 with plenty of wind. Not one of them ever came out with the skin rubbery. When conditions are like that, you have to keep the top screen on it during the entire cook time and increase the cook time. One of the other things I’ve done is set the fryer inside my garage with the door halfway down and set the propane tank outside of the garage. I decided that for my own comfort, but it also helps with cook time and I get the same crispy skin but don’t need to keep the lid on. Last night, I cooked a drunken chicken in it. Super crispy skin and the juiciest chicken I have ever put in my mouth. The fryer is easy to clean too. I highly recommend this product!
