This is my second Char Broil. My first one was a performance tru infrared. That one lasted I think 10 years. Had to replace the grates once. This one seems as good quality, but I just installed it. By the way, the installation instructions leave a lot to be desired. They ought to ask somebody in the US to put notes in it or at least refer to a website for a YouTube video of some sort.
Thank you for your feedback on your Charbroil grill. We understand your frustration with the igniter not working and appreciate you taking the time to share your experience. Ensure a fresh battery is in the ignition module and if the issues persists please contact Charbroil CARE at 1 866 239 6777.
I'm a degreed product designer (industrial design) with 30+ years in new product design/development and this thing took me 4 hours to assemble. The instructions are clear with isometric assemblies diagrams and all of if the BOM was accounted for. So take your time and use a sharp Phillips screwdriver and have a beer or something, because assembly will not go fast.
I have not used it yet, perhaps I'll be able to update this review in the future. But they quality of the grill looks to be equal or better than Weber.
I enjoy the grill. But the instructions for putting it together were not easy to use. The screws were not labeled right for the grill that we purchased. We were able to figure it out. But it was frustrating.
We looked at a lot of choices in our lower price range and limited storage space and liked this one best, it is compact with 4 burners plus a side burner for cooking veggies or keeping things warm. We especially liked that the entire space over the burners and between the burners has fat/grease reflectors to minimize flareups. The chrome looks really nice. Hopefully it holds up over time. This grill can get really hot very quickly and holds the heat. We made some great steaks, seared on the outside but medium rare on the inside, perfect. Our only complaint is that some parts are so heavy that it required 2 of us to move in/out of our van and to assemble it. The directions were only in picture format, no words, and a bit confusing, but adequate. Thankfully the heavy firebox came preassembled. Once we put it together, the caster wheels move it easily in/out of our small storage shed.
