The cold extraction feature is a game-changer, especially for iced coffee lovers like me. With minimal effort, I could whip up refreshing, smooth iced drinks that rival anything from a coffee shop. The stainless steel bottomless portafilter is another highlight—it not only looks sleek but lets you watch the espresso being perfectly crafted. There’s something mesmerizing about seeing those rich crema layers form in real-time!
The frothing wand is intuitive and easy to use, making it a breeze to create creamy froth for cappuccinos or silky steamed milk for lattes. It’s versatile enough for beginners but still delivers barista-quality results for more experienced users.

Big results in a little package

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My husband and I have become obsessed with creating espresso drinks at home in the last year. We have a really sophisticated espresso machine at home, but my husband wanted one for his office (long hours, hosts lots of clients/meetings, etc) so he could top up at work. The Cuisinart Slim Espresso machine is exactly what he needed - space saving but still makes a quality drink. The machine itself is very attractive and minimalist. It's ultra narrow and fits with inches to spare under our cupboards at home (if that's a concern). It's got a large water reservoir and will fit a travel mug under the head! It was really easy to get started with drinks - maybe 20 mins of setup and rinsing? I'm struggling a bit with figuring out the milk frothing wand, but I'm sure we will get it in time. In short, this is the perfect machine if you are low on space and/or want a machine that will make a solid latte or iced coffee without all of the unnecessary bells and whistles of more costly machines.

Compact and simple

It’s mostly made of plastic, though, so it does pick up smudges easily.
Customization is pretty minimal here — you can choose between a single or double espresso shot, and there’s a knob for hot steam water. If you're into fine-tuning your coffee-making process, this might feel limiting. But for beginners or those who just want quick, hassle-free espresso, it works well. One thing I really appreciated is how quiet it is, and the water heats up superfast. The brewing speed was impressive too. All in all, it’s a decent choice if you’re short on space or prefer simplicity to complexity.

Espresso at Home

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This espresso machine’s slim design is perfect for my limited counter space, and the included accessories have a nice, quality feel. The buttons are straightforward, and the backlit dials give it a polished look.
The machine warms up quickly and the noise level is not too loud. The espresso it makes is smooth, and the milk frother works well for lattes and cappuccinos. The water reservoir is easy to fill and holds a lot of water. The frother is also very easy to clean, and the drip tray removes easily for quick maintenance. It even fits a travel mug, which is a nice bonus.
Locking the portafilter into place takes a little effort sometimes, but it’s not a dealbreaker and should improve with practice. The frothing wand works well, though there’s a learning curve to getting the foam just right. There’s also a bit of splashing during brewing, but it’s minor.
Overall, it is a solid choice for anyone looking to make quality espresso at home without breaking the bank!

Better than expected!

This is well made and the slim design makes it very easy to utilize space on our coffee bar. This model is easier to use than any other model we've ever tried! The frother works great and all accessories needed are included with this model. I highly recommend to any coffee enthusiast.

I was able to make cappuccino and frappuccino very easily and efficiently. The machine is easy to operate and cleanup thereafter using. I am very impressed with the functionality of this machine. Great, unique little espresso machine

This Cuisinart espresso machine is a nice mix between slim convenience and quality.
The porta filter is lightweight and the tamper is just the bottom of the scoop, so I would recommend upgrading both of those.
The machine is programmable for the amount of time for extraction for your single or double shots. To this end it would be ideal to weigh your beans to ensure a consistent extraction.
Still, even the first shot I pulled turned out fairly well which speaks positively to the machine.
The most interesting function was the Cold option that forces room temperature water through the filter to make a strong coffee, instead of espresso. It is slow (so plan accordingly) but had good flavor. Definitely a nice option.
The milk jug it comes with is nice and the steam worked well to get the milk to a good consistency.
Overall, if you're looking for a cheaper lower profile machine, this should meet your needs.

I loved the different size shot capabilities, and the milk frother was so quick! I ended up making an iced Americano, so two shots of espresso with some water and then a splash of cream and it was delicious!
