The picture quality is truly exceptional — colors are vibrant, blacks are deep, and every detail stands out beautifully, whether we’re watching movies or sports. The sound performance is surprisingly powerful and immersive for built-in speakers, easily filling our living room. We’re also big fans of the smart features; Google TV is intuitive and fast, making it easy to stream shows or use voice search. The connectivity is flawless — it effortlessly links with our gaming console and soundbar. On top of that, the elegant design with ultra-slim bezels looks stunning on our wall and fits perfectly with our decor. Couldn’t be happier with this purchase!

The remote is easy to navigate and I like the other features it includes. The smart features of the tv is super cool and I like how you can customize the settings. The sound is great quality but I also added a sound bar to enhance it more and it was easy to connect the TV. Highly recommend!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Alright, I’ve been living with the Sony BRAVIA 5 (K-50XR50) for a couple of weeks now, and I’m ready to spill the tea on this 50-inch Mini LED TV. Spoiler: it’s a solid performer, but it’s not without quirks. Let’s dive in.
First off, the picture quality is legit impressive for the price. The Mini LED setup with Sony’s XR Backlight Master Drive makes colors pop and blacks feel surprisingly deep for an LCD. Watching *Dune: Part Two* on Sony Pictures Core was a treat—those desert scenes had vibrant oranges and crisp details that pulled me right in. The Cognitive Processor XR does some heavy lifting, upscaling older shows like *The Office* so they don’t look like a blurry mess. HDR is solid with Dolby Vision, but don’t expect OLED-level punch; bright highlights in movies like *Mad Max: Fury Road* can feel a bit flat compared to pricier sets like the BRAVIA 7.
Gaming is where things get a bit mixed. I hooked up my PS5, and the 4K/120Hz support with Auto HDR Tone Mapping is awesome for *Spider-Man 2*—colors and contrast adjust on the fly, which is cool. But the response time isn’t the snappiest, so fast-paced games like *Call of Duty* had some noticeable blur. If you’re a casual gamer, it’s fine, but competitive players might want to look elsewhere.
Sound-wise, the TV holds its own. The 20W speakers with 3D Surround Upscaling create a decent sense of space, and Dolby Atmos makes action scenes feel immersive. I paired it with a Sony soundbar for extra oomph, and the Acoustic Center Sync feature is a game-changer—dialogue feels like it’s coming right from the screen. Still, don’t expect it to rival a dedicated surround system.
The Google TV interface is slick and snappy, with all the apps I need (Netflix, Disney+, you name it). The BRAVIA Connect app on my phone made setup a breeze, and AirPlay 2 is handy for streaming from my iPhone. My only gripe is the remote—it’s functional but feels a bit cheap for a TV this nice.
Design-wise, the Underlay Stand looks sleek and saves space, though it wobbles a tad if you bump the table. It’s great for smaller rooms, and the tactile dots on the HDMI ARC port are a thoughtful touch for accessibility.
Overall, the BRAVIA 5 is a great all-rounder for movies, shows, and casual gaming in a bright room. It’s not perfect—HDR brightness could be better, and gamers might want faster response times—but for a mid-range Mini LED, it’s tough to beat. If you’re after a reliable 50-inch TV that looks and sounds great without breaking the bank, this one’s a winner.
