They don't make things like they used to

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Nothing like our old one. The old Maytag was 36 years old. The belt broke for the second time and I just figured it was time. I should've but the belt on. It's the old saying, They don't make things like they used to. Takes much longer to dry, I'm sure it's supposed to be saving the planet but I would much rather have dry clothes. Once you buy it unfortunately, you own it.

Not the best Maytag product

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am disappointed that his dryer does dry well if there is to a large load of laundry in it. So I have have to start doing smaller loads. Which means more time wasted of my busy schedule. I would not recommend

Heating: Check if the dryer is producing heat by running a heated cycle for 5 minutes and feeling inside.1
Venting & Airflow: This is the most likely cause of long dry times if the dryer is producing heat.
Cleanliness: Clean the lint screen after every use and occasionally clean residue from fabric softener. The house vent line should be cleaned every one to two years.
Obstruction: Verify the outside exhaust hood is not blocked, ensuring it is at least 12" away from the ground or other objects.
Condition: Ensure the vent is not crushed and is constructed of 4" diameter heavy metal material (not foil or plastic).
Length: Keep the vent run as short and straight as possible.
Cycle Selection: Use an automatic cycle for best performance. Be aware that the EcoBoost™ option will increase drying time by approximately 40 minutes.
Error Codes: An AF or "Check Vent" error code indicates restricted airflow or a clogged vent. Touch any key to clear the code.

MAYTAG DRYER MADE BY WHIRLPOOL ... A PROBLEM

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Have bought Whirlpool and Kitchenaid products for over 30 years ... none of them ever died on me ... they got old and I replace them in working order!! This Maytag Dryer has been in my home for approx 6 months and the dryer drum/rollers or something is make a rhythmic thumping with ever turn of the drum. I am a bit disappointed in the Maytag because when I did an AI search of reviews on this model and Maytag Dryers generally, AI said that the main complaint with Maytag Dryers is that they often need servicing within the first year of operation. That's a quality control pattern issue that should be FIXED.
