Works great, but tricky setup.

I recently installed this doorbell last week and it's working great, but there were two things I found unnecessarily difficult in the setup:
1. When trying to initially add the doorbell to the app, I couldn't get past the WiFi warning message because the "proceed" button is below the view of my phone's screen. (The same with my wife's phone.) I miraculously figured out that if I go into my phone's display settings and decrease the "zoom", the "proceed" button will appear at the bottom of the screen. (I'd suggest they move the button towards the middle of the page.)
2. It took me an hour to figure out how to get the doorbell to ring my existing chimes. You have to go into "settings" then "Feature Control" then "doorbell" then turn on "Wire Ring Enabled". (I'd suggest they change it's default from 'off' to 'on'.)

pain to sync but good once up and running

In the past few months, I got (2) flood lights and this updated doorbell. I wanted all my devices and any possible future to be using one app and my old doorbell from Night Owl used a different app. For 3 Night Owl products, I needed 3 different devices to get them all to work. My personal phone kept giving me an error about not being able to set UID on the doorbell. This happened like 6 times. The setup through my tablet worked first try, both are Android. So be ready to try multiple devices. For the flood lights, one worked with my work iphone and the other with my personal phone. It's annoying but once up and running no problems so far. And the image on the new doorbell is much better than the old. We'll find out tonight if they got the night imaging working. It was non-existent on the old model.

Ficus tree branches blowing in the wind causes the camera to send "Face" detected notification.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Been waiting for Night Owl to bring out a newer edition to their doorbells. Was easy to install where my previous doorbell was and use the existing wiring to power the new setup. Paired to my existing system and now enjoying the coverage without owing a fee every month for the rest of time.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Incompatible with their own system and the house

I bought this product along with their full NVR camera system to create a full house exterior security system. I have the doorbell wired in directly to my existing doorbell, but unbenounced to me, this doorbell is incompatible with the normal house mechanical chime.
This is a massive oversight, but somewhat understandable. In order to fix this, I purchaced the accompaying Night Owl Chime (small white box that plug into a house outlet.)
THIS IS THE UNJUSTIFIABLE PART!
In order to connect the the Night Owl Chime to the doorbell in the app, the doorbell needs to be removed from the Night Owl NVR recorder. So any footage recorded by the doorbell will no longer be saved directly to the recording system that handles the rest of the cameras. Instead, if you want to store doorbell camera footage, you have to use an SD card located directly on the doorbell itself.
In order to connect the the Night Owl Chime to the doorbell in the app, the doorbell needs to be removed from the Night Owl NVR recorder. So any footage recorded by the doorbell will no longer be saved directly to the recording system that handles the rest of the cameras. Instead, if you want to store doorbell camera footage, you have to use an SD card located directly on the doorbell itself.
So essentially you have to choose between having a video doorbell that rings inside your house or having the footage collected by the doorbell stored locally with the rest of the Night Owl system.
It makes absolutely no sense and needs to be fixed.
