A Few Positives, Mostly Negatives

I honestly feel bad giving this appliance only a 3-star review. On the plus side, it has generous internal capacity, especially with the compact in-the-door ice maker. It's got a beautiful exterior finish, maintains the temperature well and is very quiet. However, the unit we were delivered and returned had multiple issues:
1. The left-hand door was difficult to keep in the open position - it wanted to close on its own.
2. Only the middle two shelves can be height-adjusted, and only a limited amount.
3. The upper shelf is fixed-position and can only store items smaller, less tall items.
4. The interior lighting gets blocked if you pack the fridge, making it harder to find items.
5. There was something wrong with the water filtration on our unit. Despite running at least five gallons of water through the filter that came with the fridge, the water had a plastic-like taste/odor that was extremely unpleasant.
6. Ice production was subpar, to say the least. The unit barely produced any ice over the 8 days we had it before it was returned. It finally managed to fill half the ice bin right before they came to get it.

We have used Whirlpool products for years, including refrigerators, stoves, microwaves, dishwashers and washers/dryers. Our dishwasher is 16 years old and still performs like new. Our microwave lasted almost 12 years through very harsh family use, and we replaced it with another Whirlpool that works great and has great features. This fridge, however, was a complete disappointment, I am sorry to say. I gave it 3-stars due to the generous capacity, nice exterior finish and quite operation. However, it is definitely a fail on the items listed above. We have gone with a different brand because we were concerned any other model we got would be no better.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great features.

He had nothing but problems with the GE products and decided to switch to whirlpool seems like the quality is there however it malfunctioned five days after having it. It still has not been corrected. Service tech missed the first appointment. Showed up the second time with all the parts he needed to fix. They were the wrong parts. The refrigerator goes from continually beeping to not being able to use any of the controls.

36” French Door Fridge with Bottom Freezer

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My biggest complaint is the fact that the deli drawer is full width rather than split in half like the vegetable keeper drawers. That nears to get something out of the deli drawer, you must open both doors fully to access a small item. It affects the temperature of the entire fridge including increasing melting of the ice in the ice maker storage. I would also like a drip tray under the ice & water dispenser in the door. You sometimes get some ice and water drips and the depression is not very deep. I have added a silicon aftermarket drip tray. I would also prefer more adjustability of the door bins. The molded-in attachments for the bins does not provide enough flexibility. Overall, the fridge is very nice. We are moving from a side-by-side to the French door with the freezer on the bottom, so we have to rethink how we arrange things.
