Extremely disappointing product and service

The fridge leaks water into the fruit and vegetable bin. The service tech said he sees water but doesn't know where it is coming from. The Whirlpool Tech told the service tech the fridge is functioning as designed. Very disappointing product. Not even a year old and I have to put a paper towel between the wall of the fridge and the fruit and vegetable to prevent the water from collecting in the bin.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great big fridge

We purchased this after our Kitchen Aid fridge of 14 years crapped out. We needed a white fridge with water/ice as well as a spacious one.
Pros:
*Spacious, lots of room on the shelves.
*Lots of shelves on the door, one is almost hidden under the ice maker.
*The freezer drawer is spacious.
*The delivery of this fridge was great. The delivery people understood that the doors needed to be taken off to get it in the door and they put it together promptly.
*While the fridge is big, it doesn't seem to take up too much space, the doors seem flatter than our previous ones and the handles are nice and matte (not glossy).
*The filter is in an easy to find location and easy to change.
*Doors open nice and wide
*Doors will stay open by themselves and not close on you; which is pro & con. Sometimes we think we closed the door but it was still open and needs to be pushed shut.
Cons:
*Veggie/fruit drawers seem a little smaller than before, but that may be to increase shelf space.
*I wish the ice/water maker was side by side instead. The space between the water spout and the water button is tight. To avoid splashes, I push the water button with one hand and use my other to hold the cup under the water button so it falls in the middle. When I push it with the cup (especially ones with thicker lips), the water will drip behind the cup.
*I wish the door shelves had a liner of sorts; our old one had rubber ones that had little tabs on the sides that I could use to take them out.
*I wish the ice/water maker had an auto fill option (you could say if you wanted 8oz, 10oz etc) & it would auto fill for you (our previous one had it and it was a nice feature).
*You can't arrange the shelves in a different configuration.
*You must open the doors all the way in order to fully extend the deli drawer
All in all, we're very happy with this fridge. Some of my "cons" are more so that I hope the powers that be see them and do better for the next batch of designs.
I would recommend this to a friend!

This is a functioning refrigerator, but it seems like it wasn’t designed by people who use refrigerators. No drawer can be accessed without opening both doors. The door with the ice dispenser will not stay open to allow you to open the drawers. You have to open the door and hold it open to be able to access the drawers at all.
This seems like a minor issue, but it makes the drawers so un-functional that we don’t even use them. I actually think about how much I hate this fridge every time I use it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

poor water dispenser system

This model was installed in my home on May 1,2026. Ths issue I have with this model is that the water dispenser is extremely slow, a mere trickle. It takes almost 2 minutes to fill an 8 oz glass of water. The installer came on May 29 to check the water line and make sure my water pressure to the house was normal. The installer said that Whirlpool intentionally makes the water slow!!! This is not acceptable.

Let's check your water pressure
Low water pressure is a frequent cause of slow dispensing, small ice cubes, or slow ice production. Optimal water pressure is essential for consistent performance. Review Ensuring Correct Water Pressure for recommendations and additional information.
Using a Reverse Osmosis (RO) system? RO systems can sometimes reduce water pressure further. Please review the pressure guidelines in Ensuring Correct Water Pressure.
Let's ensure the water filter is correctly seated
If the water filter was recently replaced or installed, an improper seal can reduce or stop water flow. To check the installation:
Remove the water filter from the housing.
Try to dispense water. If water dispenses, the filter was installed improperly; please reinstall it, making sure it is locked into place to create a proper seal.

Has the water filter reached its replacement time?
A clogged filter can reduce water flow, leading to slower dispensing. We recommend replacing your Whirlpool water filter every 6 months, when the indicator light comes on, or as needed, to ensure a continuous supply of cleaner, fresher-tasting drinking water.

plenty of space for all the food you prepare for your next holiday or big family gathering. The freezer holds
so much with room for that Thanksgiving or Christmas Turkey. You have a pizza pocket and a pull-out drawer for all those items you use daily. The pull-out drawer is also great for children. They can readily retrieve all those treats they love. If you like your refrigerator organized, this the one for you!

Very roomy, but noisy

Purchased this unit 2 months ago and immediately noticed a shrill squeal lasting 6-8 seconds every time the ice maker calls for water. Service repairman came out last week and knew exactly what the problem was. Unfortunately, there is no fix for the problem. Some engineer at Whirlpool decided to use 1/4" lines inside the unit and the whistling comes when the 5/16" supply line transitions to the 1/4". It is a known flaw. he recorded the noise and will submit to Whirlpool. He added a small piece of insulation supplied by Whirlpool, but it made no difference. They are aware they screwed up and I guess this is their fix. We love everything else about the unit. Lots of space and a great layout. All the pluses ruined by 8 seconds of a shrill squeal several times a day based on ice usage. Very disappointing!
