Glasses-Free 3D You Need to See to Believe

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve had this monitor for a few days now and tested just about everything I could. It’s been a long time since I’ve been this excited about a new piece of tech.
When I first saw it, I didn’t pay much attention. The price was high, the size was on the smaller side, and it’s an IPS panel. I couldn’t figure out why it cost so much and dismissed it as some boutique product that wasn’t for me. When it went on sale for a deep discount, I decided to give it a closer look. I’m glad I did, because it’s actually pretty awesome.
No picture or video does the effect justice; you have to see it in person. On day one I tested it with a SBS 3D YouTube video, and within seconds I said “WOW!”, laughed out loud, and even backed away from the screen as objects seemed to come flying out at me. 3D Blu-ray discs and other native 3D content are equally impressive. The officially supported games are also amazing, even though the list is still small. If you’re technically inclined and have a high-end PC, you can get hundreds more titles working through third-party and open-source tools.
The software does require patience. I’ve had to reboot, unplug and replug the USB cable, restart the app, relaunch a game multiple times, and adjust settings to get 3D to kick in. It isn’t flawless. But it is improving: a new version dropped this weekend that nearly doubled the compatible games list and made things more reliable for me.
So, is it worth the MSRP? At first I thought it was priced too high. After a few days, I can honestly say yes — it would’ve been worth it even at full price. This is the best 3D tech I’ve personally experienced. I hope adoption grows, because the more time I spend playing in 3D, the more it feels like this is how games were meant to be played.
I would recommend this to a friend!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The 3D effect is extremely cool and really does add another level of immersion. Samsung has been adding new games regularly though at the time the library is not the biggest. However, you can play many many more not directly supported games in 3D through community efforts. Downsides are the performance overhead, the resolution split between two eyes playing in 3d and some ghosting with light objects on dark backgrounds. But these all come with the technology.
Overall if you have the wallet, and beefy setup to take advantage of this hardware I really recommend trying this monitor. It makes me never want to play a "flat" game again.

Amazing 3D, with a few caveats
on September 29, 2025

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Realized I ended up reviewing this on the wrong account.
Overall, the 3D looks really really good, and it just pops.
There's some minor caveats, with objects which are too close and also on the side of the screen. So the middle of the screen works perfectly fine, but side of the screen for very very close objects can only have one eye address that part of the image, making my eyes unfocused when that happens.
Additionally, the HUD in Stellar Blade in particular looks off (and also like the interact symbols when talking to people), maybe cause it's not 3D or something, causing it to jut back in comparison to the actual images. Maybe it would be fixed if this was done in 3D? Not sure if it's a hardware or software limitation. The aiming marker when shooting is also kind of weird which makes the gun portions much harder.
Finally, maybe some development of eye tracking (currently using face tracking) may be interesting since some background is very blurred when focusing on close objects (karakuri ending screen), but not sure if that would cause too much flickering or something.
Overall though pretty revolutionary tech.

Awesome Tech!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The monitor technology is very cool to experience in person. The natively supported games work ok and there's a plethora of community fixes that can be played on this monitor as well! The Odyssey hub takes forever to load though. The ghosting between eyes can get bad in high contrast scenes with high separation. Only the Eco picture mode is good for 3D, otherwise you'll get bad ghosting like in this attached picture. The AI 3D conversion for videos is a neat addition for DRM free content.

Way too much ghosting and too low resolution in 3d

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Not sure if my display is just defective (with how bad mine looks that may be the case), but the 3D mode on this monitor looks terrible. I've tried Lies of P, Silent Hill 2, as well as 2d videos with the AI 3d conversion. The games have terrible ghosting, and it looks like the monitor drops down to 480p res once in 3d. I've confirmed it's running at 3840x2160, and I've tried reinstalling the 3d odyssey hub as well as updating firmware. I've tried the monitor on 2 different gaming machines (one with a 4070 ti, one with a 3080) same issue on both
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

What kind of Voodoo Magic is powering this?

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Tried the Samsung Odyssey 3D G90XF at home—mind-blowing depth without glasses! Eye-tracking keeps the 3D stable as you move, and games like Cyberpunk 2077 feel insanely immersive. But the sweet spot’s small, and brightness drops in 3D mode. When it works, it’s magic; when it doesn’t, it’s headache city. Cutting-edge, but not perfect in my opinion. Looking forward to this tech advancing and getting larger size screen dimensions.
