[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love 3D tech. I have a couple dozen 3D blu-rays and a couple old televisions I can’t bear to part with because they support 3D. I even have one of those really expensive headsets so I can enjoy the latest content in 3D. Oh and I have one of those 3D handhelds.
I was surprised to see the Odyssey 3D advertised and it was an instant buy for me. It is a bit pricy and small, especially since I am coming from a 42” OLED TV. What happened to the 37” version?
The Odyssey 3D gaming monitor is a solid step in the right direction and I hope to see the technology become more widespread with greater adoption by content and media producers. It has an absolutely stunning/beautiful picture for being IPS. The 3D is incredible with the right content.
Negatives: No support for native 3D input over HDMI. If I could have been able to plug my PS3 into this and play my 3D games and watch my 3D blu-rays, it would have been a no brainer 5/5 rating. The reason for this lack of native hardware 3D support is that the monitor requires an RTX graphics card; the eye tracking and 3D output are all software based and rely on the RTX to process. It’s probably a better quality result overall, just inconvenient.
I would have gladly sacrificed one of the hdmi 2.1 ports for native 3D over hdmi. I have found ways around this, so I’ll leave it at that. Some 3D emu apps that can output 3D SBS in full screen also work.
Despite the negatives, I am going to keep it. At full MSRP with no extras? Maybe not.

Level Up Your Game with the Odyssey G5!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Level Up Your Game with the Odyssey G5!
Stepping into gaming monitors with the 27-inch Samsung Odyssey G51C has been a blast! The picture is vibrant and sharp – a huge upgrade. Gameplay feels so smooth thanks to the high refresh rate. The curved screen really pulls you in!
A couple of things to note: viewing angles aren't the widest, and you might see a little black smearing in dark, fast scenes.
But overall? For a first gaming monitor, the Odyssey G5 is fantastic value. It makes games look and feel incredible. Highly recommend! Get ready for a much better gaming experience!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Been a fan of stereoscopic 3D ever since the first 3D monitors, TVs, and Nintendo 3DS. I always wondered why the 3DS tech was never implemented in larger screens. Finally, in 2025, Samsung is delivering on that potential. The design language of this monitor is very good, with a robust stand, small bezel. It feels like a quality built product. The visual quality is as good as you can expect from an edge-lit IPS display. Most importantly the glasses-free 3D experience works well. The titles in Samsung's 3D Hub work flawlessly out of the box, and you can get SBS 3D based fixes like Geo-11 and UEVR + VRto3D working well too. I was impressed with how good the AI conversions of 2D images look on this monitor; although still a ways away from looking as good as a native 3D implementation.
There is some significant room for improvement of course -- the number of officially supported titles needs to be expanded greatly. And on the hardware side, this monitor lacks local dimming zones, so it does not perform well in HDR. A larger variant of this monitor and ultrawide variants would certainly be welcome. I would love to have a monitor that can do stereoscopic 3D and deliver beautiful 1000+ nit HDR highlights at the same time. We are still quite a ways away from a monitor that "does it all" -- think a Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 57-inch 32:9 monitor with this glasses-free stereoscopic 3D technology built into it. But this is a good first step to getting there... someday...

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So just had it for an hour, just got it up and working and the 3d is really popping, which feels crazy. I guess there's still a limited support of some games, so I hope the software updates to keep up with the hardware, but this is some really cool tech.
Some software QoL changes I would like however include:
1. Being able to keep this as a side monitor instead of main monitor
2. Apparently some people have had issues with the windows scaling? Checking this would be nice

Best Innovative Monitor

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Samsung 3D monitor is awesome — the 3D effect works without glasses and really makes games and movies pop. The picture is super sharp, colors look great, and everything runs smooth with the high refresh rate. Even when I’m not using 3D, it’s just a solid, premium monitor that’s fun to use every day.

Glasses-Free 3D You Need to See to Believe

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve had this monitor for a few days now and tested just about everything I could. It’s been a long time since I’ve been this excited about a new piece of tech.
When I first saw it, I didn’t pay much attention. The price was high, the size was on the smaller side, and it’s an IPS panel. I couldn’t figure out why it cost so much and dismissed it as some boutique product that wasn’t for me. When it went on sale for a deep discount, I decided to give it a closer look. I’m glad I did, because it’s actually pretty awesome.
No picture or video does the effect justice; you have to see it in person. On day one I tested it with a SBS 3D YouTube video, and within seconds I said “WOW!”, laughed out loud, and even backed away from the screen as objects seemed to come flying out at me. 3D Blu-ray discs and other native 3D content are equally impressive. The officially supported games are also amazing, even though the list is still small. If you’re technically inclined and have a high-end PC, you can get hundreds more titles working through third-party and open-source tools.
The software does require patience. I’ve had to reboot, unplug and replug the USB cable, restart the app, relaunch a game multiple times, and adjust settings to get 3D to kick in. It isn’t flawless. But it is improving: a new version dropped this weekend that nearly doubled the compatible games list and made things more reliable for me.
So, is it worth the MSRP? At first I thought it was priced too high. After a few days, I can honestly say yes — it would’ve been worth it even at full price. This is the best 3D tech I’ve personally experienced. I hope adoption grows, because the more time I spend playing in 3D, the more it feels like this is how games were meant to be played.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The 3D effect is extremely cool and really does add another level of immersion. Samsung has been adding new games regularly though at the time the library is not the biggest. However, you can play many many more not directly supported games in 3D through community efforts. Downsides are the performance overhead, the resolution split between two eyes playing in 3d and some ghosting with light objects on dark backgrounds. But these all come with the technology.
Overall if you have the wallet, and beefy setup to take advantage of this hardware I really recommend trying this monitor. It makes me never want to play a "flat" game again.
