Great monitor, just needs more time

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a very impressive monitor overall. The 3d is something you need to see to believe. Still haven’t decided my overall feelings on it and will update overtime. I can’t wait to see more of what this monitor can do. Support is a little lacking at this time, but with mods there are a lot more. Love this monitor overall

Great convenient 3D

Long time 3D Vision user here, I give this monitor nearly full marks for excellent 3D. I put it roughly comparable to the old PG278QR in terms of 3D, with different trade offs. Here, the trade-off is to have a bit of visual 'grain' to the image in 3D. It makes reading text just a bit hard. It's not super distracting, but it's noticeable and bad enough that I dock one star. On the PG278QR, the trade-off is dimmer image and wearing glasses.
I give it 4 stars for the actual hardware. Samsung's software gets 0 stars, it's completely broken when using an AMD card, which their marketing says works. Doing a SBS conversion does not work at all, it just crashes. I don't care about the missing 3D auto-conversion, I'm only ever going to play HelixMod or UEVR fixed games. But I'd like to be able to see phereo.com SBS photos.
Their HUB is OK for what it is, and hopefully gets fleshed out with more games. Overall the HUB is not particularly good, the list of games is pathetic, and even the ones that are 'fixed' don't actually work. For example GTA San Andreas has broken shadows. Just use HelixMod or UEVR. It might get there some day, but never buy anything for a possible future than never arrives.
I still keep 4 stars, because this level of hardware is very nice and I enjoy using it. You need to be a modder to use it effectively though.

It's a bit pricey of course, but we are sort of used to that as 3D enthusiasts. On sale, I think it's worthy. The monitor stand is annoyingly bad for a monitor at this price level. Wobbly.

Amazing 3D monitor

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Odyssey 3D is a fantastic gaming monitor offering 4K resolution and 165hz, of course the main reason to buy is 3D. Being able to play games in 3D and watch movies/videos without glasses is a revelation, i love VR but this is so much easier.
