Small personal Issues

the only issue I have is that it would be good to have a stand on the back to support the screen weight, rather than relying on the laptop screen. Also when the laptop screen is laid back slightly to be able to see at the right angle the Swivel screen angle is different to the laptop. Other than those 2 issues which don't stop you from using the screen think it works well

Great monitor, vibrant, clear, and easy to use. My only (minor) complaint is that the included USB-C to USB-C cord is a bit short, but it's a great product.

Lots of work space

I have been using the monitor for about a week. Easy to install. The brightness level is ok, it could be brighter. It also drains significant power from the laptop, but I use it plugged in and then it is fine. It seems to work well with the MAC operating system. It provides significantly more work space.

This is a great product but PLEASE find a different adhesive for the sticker you put on the screen!!! It took almost an hour of me wiping hard with isopropyl alcohol and using my fingernail to scrape the adhesive left over.

Great extra monitor

I have been using the SideTrak Swivel for about a month. So far so good. Attaching it to my monitor was a breeze with the included template and the magnet with double sided tape. When not in use, the Swivel folds neatly against the back of my laptop. The strong magnet ensures it doesn’t detach during transport. The Swivel is lightweight and easy to carry around in my backpack. So far this extra monitor has performed flawlessly.

Almost Perfect

Rounded to 4.5 stars.
Pros: This thing just plain works! Used it with a MacBook, PC, and Chromebook. No problems at all and totally plug and play! It tilts to a decent enough angle so I can see it without killing my neck at makes it so much easier to work on a laptop. Now I have the benefit of dual screens which I need a lot!
Cons: The construction feels a little flimsy. The plastic feels thin (not cheap) and there's no cover or protector for the screen. I slid this into a laptop case with a laptop and while I could zip the case closed, It was a tight fit and I was deathly afraid I would kill the screen. So, I never traveled with it and doubt I ever will.
The one thing I can't stand is how this monitor balances when it's in portrait mode. It rests on a narrow piece of plastic that barely makes contact with the table. That would be OK if there were some kind of rubber foot on that edge. The plastic is so slick, the monitor fell a few times until I got the hang of it. Even then, I never typed on the laptop keyboard because the shaking would cause problems. I only use this with an external keyboard.

I have been using my SideTrak Swivel 15.6" Attfachable Portable Monitor for a month and a half now and I LOVE it! I had bought an earlier model several years back to use with my 14-inch work laptop and was always disappointed that the screen was smaller than the laptop screen. Also, the older model did not have adjustable brightness and always looked dimmer than my laptop. Since it was so small, I knew that it wouldn't work well with my 15.6-inch home laptop but really wanted a second screen for home use. This newer version matches perfectly with my home laptop, has monitor adjustment controls and is much more user friendly in the way it attaches to the laptop. For starters, it comes with two metal attachment plates, so you can set it up to work with two different computers or put both plates on the same computer so that you can use the screen on either side. There are times when I prefer the monitor on my left side when I'm in my wheelchair, but when I'm at my desk it works better on the right. Moving it from one side to the other is quick and easy. I like that the USB connection is on the hinge mount and not the screen so there’s no dangling cord I have to fold up with a tie strap. As I mentioned, I'm in a wheelchair, so I prefer having a second monitor that's attached to the laptop rather than the one that is separate and on the desk. It gives me flexibility to move from my study into the family room, and my second screen tags along for the ride. Even better, I can tilt my wheelchair while watching TV and still use the laptop with two screens…now that’s multitasking! The SideTrak connected to Windows 11 automatically, and all I had to do was go into the display settings and tell Windows whether I wanted to duplicate my screen or extend it. A great feature is that you can flip the SideTrak over and the picture will automatically flip so you can share it with someone else. I've done this when I'm streaming on my laptop and my son is on the couch. We can flip the screen and both watch the same thing at the same time. Pretty cool. I also love that when you flip the screen over and fold it around against the back of the laptop screen, the SideTrak screen is hidden and protected by its outer shell. I did this and put it in my backpack when we went to my mom’s for Christmas. I didn't have to worry about storing it separately. As I mentioned, this newer SideTrak has monitor controls. The only one I really need to use is the brightness. I could match the brightness of the laptop screen and if I'm working in a darker environment, I can dim the SideTrak screen as well. I could not do on the older model. Another problem I had with the older model was that it would sometimes have issues with its USB connection. I've been using the new one for a month and a half, pretty much every day, and have never once had a problem with the connection. Something else the old version lacked was the ability to tilt the screen up and down. You could swing it horizontally, but you could not tilt the screen vertically unless you adjusted the laptop’s screen as well. The new SideTrak as a central hinge which allows you to tilt the screen up and down as well as swing it in and out. It perfectly adjusts to any angle I need, whether the computer is on my lap or on the desk. I’m often swayed to purchase something based on the list of touted features and then I’m disappointed when it doesn’t work as expected. I’m happy to say that not only does the SideTrak Swivel 15.6" Attachable Portable Monitor have great features, but also that it works exactly as expected!
