This unit was not purchased as it was a replacement for a like unit that did not work properly. We were very satisfied with the original unit until it quit working. We now expect this replacement unit to give us good service for several years. It is quite easy to operate and brews a great cup of coffee.

Based on reviews from Consumer Reports and other purchasers, I bought the Cuisinart Touchscreen 14-Cup Programmable Coffeemaker. I was looking forward to having 14-cups (2 cups more than my old Mr. Coffee machine made) of the stellar coffee others wrote about. Sadly, I have been disappointed from the get-go. First, anytime I make 14 cups, whether it be with a paper filter or the provided filter basket, grounds float up and over the filter edge. In one case, approximately 25% of the grounds ended up in the coffee and more dribbled down over the pot, under it, and baked on the heating element. This would have been more tolerable had the coffee tasted spectacular, but it lacks the rich flavor my old Mr. Coffee used to make. To avoid these repeated clean-ups, I am having to make just 12 cups at a time, and it still lacks full-bodied flavor.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Not only does this coffee maker brew 14 cups vs 12 cups like most every other coffee maker, but it actually makes 14 full cups. This means the designers understood that not all the water in the reservoir makes it to the carafe during the brew cycle. By allowing the reservoir to hold just enough more than 14 cups, you end up with a full pot instead of one cup short like other makers.

I am enjoying this coffee maker. It brews a bit faster than the previous version of this model. The coffee comes out tasting very good. The latchless lid is much easier to deal with than on the older model.

We like this unit a lot. It was a workhorse. Brewed nice cup of coffee. Little slow, but consistent cup o' joe... We like our coffee strong, so the BOLD option is nice feature. Easy to program. Sleek looking design
One caveat, our last unit only lasted 3 years before it leaked. As with most appliances, simply not worth fixing. So repurchased the same model ( kept old carafe, filter basket and water filter older ).
