Nice Improvement
on June 3, 2025

Purchased the Luxe Brewer Thermal a short time ago. I originally had and still in great working order the Breville Precision Brewer Thermal and retired it to my office. The new Luxe is easy to use and seems a bit lighter weight but when I checked the weights on these two brewers it was almost identical to my amazement. Best of all distinctions on the Luxe is the removable water tank with the Swiss Water Filter, an improved faceplate where the carafe sits and the slimmer build. If your hesitating...don't hesitate and go for it...you wont be disappointed
I would recommend this to a friend!

Beautiful Brewer needs Better Instructions
on September 8, 2025
Posted by: Kathe'nJoe
Hello, we've owned the Breville Luxe for about 10 days. It's great to look at on the counter but the manual and online videos aren't very complete or helpful. How long does it take to make cold brew? Can't find any info online or in the manual. Follow the video's instructions or the filter's preprinted instructions to set the timeframe? Can't figure out how to change the brew temp? My husband said it doesn't work as shown in the video and thr manual has no info. We're struggling our way through this but are disappointed in the quality of our experience, given the Breville's cost...
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Under-extraction?
on July 5, 2025

There is a lot to love about this machine. I had a little trouble figuring out the customization settings but it finally clicked. I initially made a standard pot with the auto setting. Very smooth but weak coffee for my liking. When I used the customized the settings to make the strongest extraction possible, it was a little stronger but not as strong as my Cuisinart makes. I used the same proportion of coffee to water (60 grams to 1 liter) as I always do. Maybe I just don’t appreciate a properly extracted cup of coffee and like it over-extracted in a way that would make James Hoffman shudder, but that’s just how I take my coffee, sir.

This Can't Be Right
on July 29, 2025

Works great when it works. HOWEVER. . . we started noticing that there was a huge discrepancy between how much water we put into the tank and how much coffee came out. We'd put 8 cups in the tank and there would be anywhere from 1-3 cups left after brewing. We thought that the machine was broken, but the Breville rep we talked to told us that this was the normal and expected operation and that "if you want to brew 8 cups of coffee you need to put in approximately 10 cups of water into the tank." How can a high-end machine like this operate like that? How are we supposed to figure out how many beans to grind? How can we not know how much coffee we are about to make? I understand that the manual does say that a little water will be left in the tank after brewing, but 3 out of 8 cups? 38%? Almost half? There is no way that can be right. We should not have to guess at how to brew coffee.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Súper sleek coffee maker. Make smooth coffee fast. Pretty stainless steel design to go with almost any kitchen. Easy to clean and use in a jiffy. You can make an array of different coffees from cold brews to a few cups or a whole pot. Help you identify water hardness and has a water filter. Amazing machine.
