Karu 12 Gas Burner not getting hot enough

I was using lump coal and wood and the oven preformed great. I reached temps of mid to high 800's. I purchased the Karu 12 gas burner and it was much easier to get going vs the coal/wood, but temps didn't exceed mid 700's and pizza bottom was consistently under cooked. I would very much like to use the gas burner when I need the convenience, but if I can't figure out how to increase temps, I will not be using it.
