The frustrations continue

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It’s fussy to use, much fussier than a gas grill, for example. I had to disconnect from the tank and start over because of a pressure related issue. The taste of the pizza using gas is disappointing. My family basically said not to bother next time and just use the regular oven. I have to agree. So the Ooni won’t get/stay hot enough, long enough with the wood and charcoal, and the gas stays consistently hotter but imparts no flavor. This whole Ooni experience has been disappointing. Not recommended.

I still prefer wood but

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I still prefer wood but if we decide to make pizzas on the spur of the moment, the gas burner is a lot quicker to get the stone up to heat.
The change over back to wood takes just a few minutes.

Shuts off intermittently

Ooni Karu 12 Gas Burner

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After struggling with inconsistency in using wood for the Karu 12, I decided to order the gas burner. Wow. Works great. Now I can focus more on the pizza as the flame is perfect every time and cooks the pies beautifully. Sooooo easy to use. Instructions could be a bit better as far as set up and operation (found some third-party You Tube videos, which helped). This is still a game changer for me.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have used wood exclusively in my Karu 12 for 3 years (over 1000 pizzas!). I absolutely love using wood. However, for the sake of convenience, Finally got the gas burner. Tried it out on a cold winter night. It performed great! Best thing I love about it is being able to control and hold consistent temps. Will be using it for other recipes such as baking.
