The gas unit works wonderful.
Occasionally it does fluctuate decreasing the temperature creating a pizza that is a little under cooked in the center. It may be the regulator that came with the burner but careful attention catches it when it does and is easily corrected.

A true upgrade

I replaced my previous generation burner with this one and what a difference! The flame pattern covers almost the entire roof of the karu, providing more even heating front to back of the oven. I previously only used charcoal or pellets because I got such inconsistent results with the old style burner, but I'm a convert; this is so much faster and more consistent.

Good consistent flame

Sometimes we feel like using wood and charcoal, but if we want consistent flame that is much less likely to set our pizzas aflame, we go to gas. The propane burner was worth the wait and it works well.

Inconsistent and not worth it

I initially bought this and used the wood/charcoal and was never able to achieve anything close to appropriate temperature. I changed everything from dough hydration to fuel to no avail. I eventually plunked down additional money for the gas burner attachment and had the same issues with soft, soggy bottoms and burned surfaces. I'm not a novice pizza maker- my oven and grilled pizzas consistently come out better not to mention I can make the pizzas bigger than 10 inches. Do not recommend given how expensive this is. I had high hopes.
