Very Disappointing

We've owned Bosch applisnces since we built our home in 1999 and the new 300 series microwave is terrible and disappointing. First, the touchpad is impossible to see. The buttons cannot be seen at all in low light and are very hard to see in bright light. How hard is it to get something like that correct? Second, the work light is a bright cool color that looks cheap and looks ridiculous next to warmer undercabinet lighting. And there's no way to change it because Bosch made it a proprietary circuit board and not a bulb. Lastly, the fan is so loud it sounds like a plane taking off in our kitchen. Bosch quality has dropped significantly. This will be my last Bosch appliance.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Nice but

Very Low Lighted Keypad

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I agree 100% with this review- This 300 microwave has a very low contrast keypad with no back lighting. In a brightly illuminated area you can see the controls somewhat. In the evening, with natural lighting or low lighting, the keypad controls are lost. The advertising picture shows a very visible keypad. Mine is very subdued and does not look like the picture Bosch shows which looks like it has backlighting. Bosch needs to fix the 300 Series microwave and improve the panel brightness.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Very nice; couple things, however

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This was purchased to replace a similar Bosch unit that finally failed with an inside metal lining burn after 18 years of faithful service. It is a very nice piece of equipment, with just a few comments.
First, the microwave function is very quiet, a plus. However, the internal vent fan is very loud. More to the point, while air blows out the top vent, there is very little flow into the two-under vent portals, not very efficient removing smoke and odors.
The control and number pad is very difficult to read in normal light. Either the text needs to stand out more, or ideally it would be better if illuminated.
Other than that,, I very much appreciated that Bosch paid for the installation.

Installed new bosch microwave
