Great cooktop but with a few oddities

The cooktop is a very nice flat piece of glass with no trim around the edges so cleaning it is a breeze. The central location of the controls was a large factor in us choosing this cooktop, blue backlight around the perimeter of the knob to let you know that its on and red ring to warn you its still hot. The elements heat up quickly but there is only one small pot element. The controls take some getting used to - there is no indication of the setting except for a circular line that goes around the knob with Hi, Med and Low indicated.It gets a bit tricky to find the spot for a good simmer, you just have to keep watching the pot and turn down the heat and wait a bit as it takes a while for the element to respond. Our old range (Electrolux) had actual numbers and after a while it was easy to remember the simmer setting, you just dialled the number in and that was it. However this may not be an issue down the road as we get used to using the cooktop all the time. The only other quirk we’re getting used to is the lack of a timer but most cooktops don’t have one so we use a small mechanical wind-up timer while cooking.
I would recommend this to a friend!
