I got this oven a few weeks ago for mothers day. Set up was very easy. I have been wanting a larger oven for a while now and when I saw that this oven was coming soon I wanted it. I received the karu 12 as a Christmas gift a few years ago and really love it I just wanted to make bigger pizzas. I have been making 16 inch pizzas in the new on the last few weeks and really like it. I burnt my first pizza in it but have figured a few things out since then. My best advice is to turn the flame down after you launch your pizza. I have kept my first few pizzas very simple just to get the hung of this larger oven. I do like the control of the flame with the controller on the side not the back like on the karu. I'm looking forward to trying to do other things like pita bread and roasted vegetables in it. Right now I'm glad I waited for this new oven to come out .
Only works with propane . Listing for this item does not say where you need to retrieve your fuel source from.
I’ve already used mine to realize it would be better to have it hooked up to natural gas so it doesn’t run out of fuel midway through cooking so I cannot return it. It would be nice if there was a conversion kit specifically for this model, or just a simple note in this listing that says it propane only. Very deceiving.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Ok, this is seriously a game changer for at-home pizza making. Assembly was easy. After being fully heated up, the oven is able to get hot enough (~900 degrees Fahrenheit) to do Neapolitan style pizzas in 60-90 seconds. We tried it out tonight for the first time. Our first one ended up being an accidental calzone, haha…It takes some practice to successfully “launch” your pizza into the oven, but once you get the hang of that, you’ve got restaurant quality pizza at home!!! I would recommend watching ooni’s video on tips for a successful launch. Once I followed those instructions, our second pizza came out great. The size of the Koda 2 Pro is impressive. We did two 12 inch pizzas tonight, but with practice it can make up to 18 inch pizzas. Temperature control is pretty easy to use. It took a little longer than the advertised 30 minutes to fully heat the oven, but again, it cooks SO fast once it’s heated. I absolutely am so happy with this pizza oven!
Really enjoyed using my Koda 2 pro for the first time. I loved my old ooni pro and upgraded mainly for the extra space. Have to say I’m not disappointed. Having the extra width gives you more time and keeps the edges from burning. The flame over the top also helps with to get the topping cooked.
The stone is way thicker than my pro and really held the heat between pizzas. Bases cooked to perfection.
Only thing I found was I could not get much over 400oC but there was some wind so might have been that. Pizzas cooked as fast as normal so did not affect anything.
Overall very pleased and thanks to Ooni for the upgrade programme
I bought this as an upgrade from my original koda 16 and i love it. The stone temperature is more consistent . The overall size is perfect and digital thermometer is a great add. Best pizza oven.
