Bosch 100 Series Freestanding Gas Range HGF1050MUC

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a very sturdy range. The gratings are cast irion and surprisingly very easy to keep clean. This model has a griddle in the center which is perfect for making pancakes or for an oval roasting pan. The burners in the back are for simmering mainly, but they can bring a pan of water to a boil if needed. The design is modern and elegant. The lines are clean and smooth and easy to keep clean. The extra storage space in the bottom drawer is a real conveneince to store those cookie trays or lasagna pans. This oven comes with a convection option which is perfect for baking. It also has a fan that kicks on to cool the surface of the range when cooking. The knobs are large and sturdy. Easily removable to access behind them for when cleaning is neccessary. The center panel lights up with the time and other baking features. All in all it is very innovative in technology and design. I'm proud to be an owner and I'm sure we will be enjoying it in our kitchen for a long time to come.

Upgrade from GE Profile

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Purchased thru the Navy Exchange. The 100 series, offered at a reasonable $ from many other brands allowed us to upgrade from a 20 year old GE Profile. The absolute power of the burners on this is amazing! Every burner heats our pans and the large tea pot so much quicker than the GE. The flame is visabilely more concentrated around the outside of the defelectors. The top is easy to clean with the three verses two cast iron grates. Little touches like the square handle that holds a tea or drying towel come in handy. The oven was within 2-3 degrees right out of the box. Multiple rack posisitons a plus. Control panel is easy to see and use for all the functions. The one complaint is the storage drawer. The slides are flimsy, hard to pull, and the drawer it self needs to be more sturdy. I will add a stainless handle myself. We cook and eat at home nearly 97% I am anxious to see how this unit holds up. I had to replace several burners and deflectors on the GE ans the oven on it never was right.
