I love my hatch so much! I have always struggled with waking up early and getting out of bed and it has honestly changed my life. I am able to wake up feeling more refreshed and less groggy. I also really enjoy being able to wind down and relax before bed with the night time routine. I highly recommend it for anyone that struggles with waking up and starting their day in a more positive/refreshed way!

Works great, but think before buying

I bought the hatch with the goal of waking up more rested, as I still felt tired and groggy throughout the day after waking up. The hatch definitely makes my mornings easier, but I would advise some caution if you are someone that already struggles with getting up when their alarm goes off. I noticed I often have a habit of going back to bed until a second alarm, and since the sunrise is set over a long period, it is hard to set multiple alarms, but after having the hatch for a few weeks I was able to form a habit of actually getting up at the first alarm. I think the sunrise feature and gentle noise of the hatch has made forming that habit significantly easier.
Beyond waking up, I have been falling asleep faster and easier since the hatch lets me form a habit and the bedtime routine I set up triggers my brain into "sleep mode." Like I mentioned with the waking up bit, the Hatch isn't going to magically change your life overnight. Your brain will need to adjust to a new routine and form new habits and the clock itself isn't going to do that for you. Most criticism I have seen seems to be because people expect the hatch to magically form these habits for you, and it will not, it will require some effort on your end as well. Additionally, a lot of the criticism comes in regarding the price and subscription.
I will say the hatch is pricey (obviously) so buying one is a significant decision. I bought mine with a coupon while it was on sale, so it was more manageable, and I don't have the subscription. I do think it's frustrating to have a subscription when your product is already at a high price point, but they want to continue making money off of their alarms after selling, which is a smart business model from the revenue perspective. Because you are paying for a luxury product, I do think maybe the free library could be expanded some, but I find that I have little want for the subscription, as it doesn't seem entirely worth it to me. I also have some ideas for future hatch developments, such as adding a speaker feature so users could play their own selection of white noise or something similar off YouTube, which may entice customers who already use YouTube to help fall asleep. Additionally perhaps setting up a routine that starts automatically at a specific time at night (this may be a thing I haven't really tried it). Overall I think this product is a good product, I just hope the company doesn't become greedy and further restrict the free options when their product is already priced so high!

As someone who works early mornings 5/7 days of the week, I love my Hatch for an easy, gentle wakeup. I have noticed since using my Hatch for the last 1.5 years, I feel less stressed in the morning and am less likely to snooze my hatch alarm vs using my phone. I have also been loving the customizable wind-down routine that helps me shift from a busy work day to a relaxed evening in preparation for sleep. I love my hatch restore 2!!!

I love waking up to the sounds of birds I do pay for the subscription personally because I don’t mind spending the extra money and I don’t think the subscription is needed, but I love it having also trust me when I say go to sleep listening to Icelandic waterfalls it’s so amazing it. If I’m being honest, do not always listen to when it tells me to go to sleep, but otherwise I love it so much and I love the meditation setting too.

Popping noises

This alarm was great for the first few months and then it started making popping noises during the morning sound which is anything but relaxing. They sent me a new device and this one does it as well and even continued the noises after the alarm is off. For how expensive this device is it is ridiculous that its speaker is low quality. Disappointed.

I had the first version and this new version requires you to buy the subscription if you want the unwind feature. I like that the clock light can go away at night though. Overall it’s great but a little frustrating that I feel forced to pay for the subscription.
