Absolute WASTE OF TIME

I am a motorcycle instructor and wanted to see whether this would be something I would recommend to my students and the answer is NO..... Here is what I found.
It switches off under 25 kph so that if someone starts to tailgate you there is no warning. I am guessing that this is preferential to having false alert alerts when a vehicle is stopped behind you and you're in stationary traffic as well or crawling along at walking pace or whatever. It would have been nice not to turn off the radar under 25 kph and be able to measure relative speed and distance for the vehicle behind you and warn if they are approaching too quickly and get too close.
Their blind spot awareness also seems to be a waste of time because it ‘over alerts’ you and turns into a blinky light Christmas tree apart from when you are under 25k (as above) when the radar switches off. What I mean by that is when you overtake a vehicle and it goes into your blindspot, it flashes orange, why does it need to do that when you already know where it is because you just passed it?

As a comparison between the Garmin Zumo and the Ride Vision product www.ridershield360.ca , I had both running on the same bike on a 1 hr trip across town and my 360 camera counted 77 Garmin detections (for blind spot) compared to the 11 Ride Vision detections , i.e. only 11 real problems.
In addition when it was raining and the Garmin Zumo sensor got wet it stopped working completely until I wiped it dry.
The Ride Vision product is only a little more expensive but better functionality and it has built in video recording.
Also the Zumo does NOT come with a camera system built in, you have to bundle one if you wanted evidence of an accident.
The Ride Vision product is camera (NOT Radar) based system and an AI processor that stitches together video from the front and rear cameras, processes that with your position and speed in relation to other vehicles and their relative speed compared to you. It gives multiple warnings such as blind spot, fast overtakes, follow distance, collision avoidance and now rear collision warnings. Think of it as a Tesla type system WITHOUT the distracting screen
This system doesn't output to a display, other than specifically supplied mirrors with integrated LED's if you want to replace your own, or stick on LEDs, if you have built in mirrors or you want to keep your adventure mirrors say.
In addition, there is a three hour record recording loop (or so) that will automatically lock the current clip if the system detects a fall over, i.e. an accident. Footage can be downloaded using an app over a WIFI connection and used as evidence in the case of an accident to prove liability.
I would stress that this is not a camera system, the quality is not as high as a GoPro, it doesn't need to be because it happily records number plates in daylight and nighttime conditions. This is designed as a safety system with cameras.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
