[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Neo QLED 8K (QN900) is the most conflicting piece of technology money can buy. It is a brute-force engineering marvel currently held back by its own software.
First, what you nailed: The hardware is spectacular. In a world obsessed with OLED, you have carved out a necessary kingdom for Mini-LED. The sheer brightness is staggering; in a sun-drenched living room, this is the only TV that actually overpowers the light. The "Infinity Air" design is the best in the industry—it looks like floating glass. Crucially, your NQ8 AI Gen3 upscaling is legitimate magic. You make 4K look denser and more three-dimensional without making it look artificial.
But here is where you are losing the battle for the "perfect" TV.
Navigating Tizen OS feels like walking through Times Square. It is cluttered, sluggish, and loaded with ads. When I spend this much on a flagship, I shouldn't see banner ads on my home screen. A clean "Pro Mode" interface is desperately needed.
Technically, enthusiasts see the "dithering" artifacts in shadows. Dark gradients often have a faint checkerboard noise that curiously disappears in "PC Mode." This proves the panel is capable of perfection, but your processing algorithms are getting in the way.
Finally, the One Connect Box is a liability. It runs too hot and is a known point of failure. If you externalize the brains, that box needs to be bulletproof.
