Simple setup, easy to use, great range

Bought this after trying out some cloud version cameras and always needing internet. Then realized I dont need that fancy stuff and the pain of setup and support. This was out of the box and setup for testing in under 10 minutes. While I haven't mounted the camera yet, I just set them outside on the ground to test for a few hours. So easy to setup motion detection, recording, etc compared to the Internet based models that you can access from the web or your phone. For the many that dont need or want those options, this system is for you.
I would recommend this to a friend!

This system is so easy to install and use! The videos are incredibly high quality! By using an SD card reader, I can easily save the videos to my computer.

This system worked great out of the box. A power adapter failed after 4 months and Darrielle (their customer service) did everything possible to get me back up and running quickly. Wish they had other camera models to use with the system that were totally wireless.

Great little system for not much money

I had been looking at all kinds of security cameras for years. We live in the country, and the design of our house makes it hard to see who is coming down the driveway or walking up to the front door.
I decided to keep it simple after having some bad experiences with wifi "smart" devices for our home. They are cool when they work, but something is always going wrong. The lights in our living room, for example, are useless right now because they can't find their "bridge" on the wifi network. And if the power goes off in the middle of the night, they come on full bright and stay that way until we find an iPad or phone to turn them off. This is progress?
The PHOENIXM2, by contrast, is wonderfully simple. Just plug everything in, turn it on, and it works. The display is small and the picture quality not fabulous, but it's adequate for our application. The base's button labels are very hard to read, but I figure I'll have them memorized in no time anyway. Menus are straightforward and easy to navigate with the joystick. The motion detectors seem to work very well, and I haven't noticed any false alarms from squirrels or bugs. We're looking forward to having an audible alert when company gets here. I don't plan on using the recording function, but I'll stick the SD card in there just in case we do. We tested the intercom function and it seemed to work well, but I doubt we'll use that either.
I was wondering how it would display the images from both cameras at once. Turns out it simply distorts them, squeezing them horizontally to get both on the screen side-by-side without cropping. Perfect.
After initially clamping the cameras to a stepladder to test positions, I now have them mounted permanently under the eaves. Power is still via extension cords, so one of these days I'll have to get in the attic and fish some wires. But this will be a breeze compared to running the video cables that a hardwired system would have required.
One setup tip: Be sure to select your time zone before setting the time of day. I set the clock first, and when I changed the time zone from the default Eastern to Central, it was off by an hour.
Bottom line: Based on a few days of use, I'd say if you want a decent, bare-bones wireless system, grab this one.
