Not As Good As It Could Be
on January 5, 2026
Posted by: Mike
I like this TV but it could be better. I find that the picture is not always the best. And many times the colors from channel to channel vary a lot from weaker to stronger. One issue I don't like is that often times after turning the TV on in the morning it will not easily go to my local channels. Sometimes it does and other times it doesn't. And if I click on a certain local channel while looking at the listings a window will often pop up as though the program has not started even though it has. That's aggravating. My next TV may not be a Samsung.

Mike,

It’s unfortunate to hear you’re not fully satisfied with your DU6900 TV’s image quality. Below are a few settings that I recommend adjusting:

Go to Home > Settings > All Settings > Picture > Picture Mode and select the mode that best fits your usage:
1) Standard: Default mode suitable for general viewing environments.
2) Natural: Reduces eye strain for a comfortable viewing experience.
3) Movie: Most suitable for watching TV or movies in a dark room.
4) Dynamic: Makes the picture brighter and clearer in bright viewing environments.
5) Filmmaker Mode: You can watch the source content (e.g., movie) as it is. If the image is defined as Filmmaker Mode, it will automatically switch to Filmmaker Mode while watching.

You can also go to Settings > All Settings> Picture > Expert Settings > to manually fine-tune your image.

If you need more help, Samsung is here for you. Call us at 1-800-SAMSUNG, 8 AM - 12 AM EST, seven days a week. Our LiveChat agents are also available by clicking on the ‘Support’ link on our website.

As far as connectivity, my TV is constantly buffering and the routers right next to the TV display is beautiful. I also have an issue with the volume. The volume is not constant it fluctuates up and down.

Nonya,

Thank you for sharing your experience with Wi-Fi connectivity on your DU6900 TV. This may be caused by a network issue. You might want to go through these steps to check your network connection:

1) Minimize interference by not using or turning off wireless devices. Also, verify that there are no obstacles between the TV and the modem or access point. (Wi-Fi strength can be decreased by appliances, cordless phones, stone walls/fireplaces, etc.)

2) If the wireless connection fails, connect the TV to the access point via a LAN cable. If the TV can connect to the Internet normally via the wired connection, there might be a problem with the access point. In this case, try using a different access point.

3) Perform a network test to check if there is a network problem. Press the Home button on your remote. Navigate to Settings > Support > Device Care > Self Diagnosis> Smart Hub Connection Test

4) Try a cold reboot of your TV by pressing and holding the power button for 5+ seconds until the TV turns off and on again.

5) Please also be sure you have the latest firmware update. You may want to enable automatic updates for convenience. Select Settings > Support > Software Update, then select Auto Update.

Please try adjusting the following Settings to improve your issue with volume fluctuations.

The Auto Volume function automatically adjusts the sound to a certain level when changing channels or switching to another external input. Go to Settings > All Settings> Sound > Expert Settings > Auto Volume = On.

You may also want to perform a Sound Test under Support > Self Diagnosis > Start Sound Test.

I hope these tips help resolve your concerns. If you need more help, Samsung is here for you! Please call us at 1-800-SAMSUNG, 8 AM - 12 AM EST, seven days a week. Our LiveChat agents are also available by clicking on the ‘Support’ link on our website.

Aftye setting up the TV I went to add the Sound Bar to the TV..There are 3 other TV's in this household and they all have a connection port for a Sound Bar. This TV does NOT.The other TV's are older models. It looks like I will have to bring back 1 of the other TV's and not be useing the Samsung TV.

Ski 61,

Thank you for choosing the Samsung DU6900 TV and for taking the time to provide us with detailed feedback on your experience. Your opinion is important to us and will be shared with our internal product teams.

The DU6900 TV offers 2 HDMI ports and is Bluetooth and Wi-Fi capable, allowing a seamless connection across multiple devices at a time. If your external device requires an Optical port, we recommend utilizing an HDMI to Optical Converter. These can be found at your local electronics store. Please also keep in mind that an Optical port can be found on our DU8000F Series and above.

If you have any questions or would like any support with your audio experience or choosing a Samsung Soundbar to complement your viewing enjoyment, please reach out to us at 1-800-SAMSUNG, 8 AM - 12 AM EST, seven days a week. Our LiveChat agents are also available by clicking on the ‘Support’ link on our website.

Very slow response to already difficult remote.

The response time for the remote is extremely slow. It will constantly show popups telling me how to navigate while I am watching a channel. The remote is difficult to use and the slow response of the TV just aggravates trying to navigate.

Would be better as a regular tv
on January 20, 2026

The picture looks great. I wish it weren't a smart tv. I'd rather plug my own device in for that function, so that's what I've done. I use a Roku for the cleaner UI and the ability to easily replace it if it slows down. The tv remote also leaves a lot to be desired. Just give me an input button. I don't want to have to click multiple things or go "home" to select between an HDMI input.
I would recommend this to a friend!
