The app has good information in it, but every time your screen times out, you have to close the app, restart it, and re-navigate to the battery status screen. It works, but is annoying.
The bluetooth range is short - less than 50 feet. I don't know what the official range is for Bluetooth, but my phone works from across the house when connecting to my car. This is nowhere close to that.
