I bought this in May 2021 to charge my 240 AH LiFePO4 trailer battery when on the road traveling. I installed a Renogy 2000W PSW inverter in the trailer at the same time with the intention of running my refrigerator on 120v while on the road. This is much safer than using the refrigerator on propane, especially when coming in to a fuel stop with the open propane flame in proximity to potential fumes at the gas pumps. The unit installed easily and works perfectly. My refrigerator uses 25 amps of power and this unit easily keeps my battery fully charged while on the road. It works seamlessly with the 400W of solar I have on my trailer roof. The charger adjusts to the needs of the battery and protects my expensive lithium battery bank from over and under charge. You can easily set it up for any type of house battery from flooded lead acid to LiFePO4. The unit is well built but I am critical of the very small terminals. Size 1 terminal lugs do not fit on the terminal blocks without some minor modification. That is unacceptable because the larger cable is needed due to the long runs between the vehicle battery and the DC/DC charger mounted near the house battery in the trailer. Other than that shortcoming, the unit has performed perfectly over about 6000 miles of travel this year. My house battery is always in tip-top shape, even when traveling at night when solar is unavailable. Use an Anderson connector between the vehicle and the trailer and you'll have the perfect setup. Buy the correct size cable and good quality, ,correctly sized fuses to avoid tripping issues. I initially bought circuit breakers and ended up replacing them with fuses after having tripping issues. Fuses work perfectly and I have not tripped a circuit once since I installed them. Follow Renogy recommendations on cable and fuse sizing and you'll be fine.. You'll always arrive at your campsite fully charged and ready to enjoy the day or night if you use this DC/DC charger. Buy with confidence.
Simple installation, except running cable from truck battery to truck bed. Started my truck, saw 40 amp charge via Victron 712 battery monitor. 30 minutes later the batteries were charged. More dependable than solar and far less expensive. If you don’t boondock much but travel a lot, this is an inexpensive alternative for charging your batteries.
Seems like a good product. Lacks any remote monitoring or remote on/off switch.

I bought this for my boat. I had left my house battery bank on before my last trip, so it was dead. I was able to charge the house bank watching it in my battery monitor. The charger worked awesome. I wired it in downline of the starter switch so it can only run if the outboards are running, and an inline switch I have on the dash on as well. It's very quiet, powerful and gave the appropriate charge. I am very happy with it.
