This is a great machine for either a humidifier or an air purifier. Not exactly both. When auto humidification is on it will not automatically speed up to clean polluted air. Or, if you want to use it as a true air purifier you have to set the auto to air cleaning, not humidification. The instructions say it will do both at the same time but when I asked for online help as to why mine didn’t I was told it can’t. Then they stopped replying. I should knock another star off for the service but this is about the product. So, in the end, if you want a humidifier that automatically maintains a setting, you will need to buy a separate air purifier to maintain constant clean air. Water tank is a bit on the small side too. Quiet and a great new way to humidify. But it is essentially a whole house humidifier that blows clean air.

Thank you for your feedback on our 2-in-1 Purify + Humidify. We apologize for any confusion regarding Auto mode. It considers both humidity and particulate matter levels, adjusting to both clean the air and add humidity as needed. This means that the device will speed up to clean the air even when humidification is on and a target humidity level has been reached. The runtime of the 2-in-1 depends on environmental factors such as the dryness of the air and the target humidity setting. As the device works to increase the humidity, it will consume more water initially. Once the target humidity is reached, it will use less water to maintain the setting.

it doesn't hold very much water, so it doesn't change the humidity very much.

We appreciate your feedback on our 2-in-1 Purify + Humidify. The runtime of the device depends on environmental factors such as the dryness of the air and the target humidity setting. We recommend setting the target humidity level within the app and ensuring the unit is positioned in a room size up to 360 sq ft for optimal performance. As the device works to increase the humidity, it will consume more water initially. Once the target humidity is reached, it will use less water to maintain the setting.

Everything has been great so far and it’s really effective. The only downside is that the water tank is a bit small so we have to fill it about three times a day.

It's a nice unit. The humidifier holds to the set level, and the fans are really quiet unless you go full force (and even then, it's not terribly loud). I gave it three stars for the following reasons:
1. The humidistat consistently reads high. I placed two other humidistats near the sensor port, and they both read anywhere from 5-15% lower levels. I'm not sure if it is picking up moisture from within the unit itself, but a remote and/or more accurate humidistat would do wonders for this device. I also have a BlueAir humidifier, and the same is true for it as well (and yes, I have ensured the sensors were clean).
2. Limited air filters. I have a wood burning fireplace, and sometimes when the outside humidity/temp/air pressure gets just right our fireplace produces a terrible soot smell. I placed the unit directly in front of it and turned it on high. It did help, but didn't eliminate the soot odor. Also, the air purifier mode does not "sense" soot odor alone and activate the fans. It would need actual smoke or other particles in the air to automatically active the fans. I enquired about getting filters with extra carbon, and currently none are available for this unit. That might be because it's new... hopefully they will be made available in the near future.
Finally, I don't consider this a problem with the unit but just an FYI - setting the unit on "Auto Fan" works fine in either humidifier or air purifier mode; it won't work both at the same time. In other words, it will activate the fans when in air purifier mode if it senses dirty air. However, it won't also go into humidifier mode when levels go below your desired setting. The reverse is true when the humidifier is on; the auto setting only works for humidity levels and won't activate the fans if the air becomes dirty. It's nice that this unit can help with either scenario, but if you often need help with humidity and air purification, you might consider two separate units.

Thank you for your detailed review and for sharing your experience with our unit. We're glad to hear that you find the humidifier effective and the fans quiet. We appreciate your feedback on the sensor and air filters. The humidity sensor in our device is designed to provide accurate readings, but it's important to note that the environment can significantly impact these readings. Factors such as room size, airflow, and the presence of people or pets can cause variations in humidity levels. The air purifier mode activates the fans when it detects smoke or other particles, but not solely based on odor. We will pass your feedback regarding the available filter options along to our team for improvement. We apologize for any confusion regarding Auto mode. This mode considers both humidity and particulate matter levels, adjusting to clean the air and add humidity as needed. This means that the device will speed up to clean the air even when humidification is on and a target humidity level has been reached. Thank you again for your feedback and for helping us improve our products. If you have any further concerns or need assistance, please don't hesitate to reach out to our customer support team. We hope to continue providing you with quality products and service.

Need a brush to clean the unit!

So far I like the unit and it seems to humidify and clean the air, although I'm not exactly sure how to tell how well it is doing either of those activities. The numbers shown on the unit do seem to indicate that the unit is doing a good job. I do like the rain sound when the unit is being filled. That is a lovely unexpected addition to this unit. However the reason for 4 stars instead of 5 (maybe should be 3 stars), is that Blueair should include a soft brush that is recommended for cleaning the unit. It is unclear to the owner (me) what brush I should use, especially on the filters. For the dollar extra, shame on you Blueair. In order for me to clean the filters, I need what you determine to be the best tools.

Water tank way too small

As an air purifier, sure I guess. Humidifier is useless, doesn't even last a day before needing to refill the tank, way too small
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
