This was a gift from my daughter who bought it to replace one she had given me before. It was also a Conair product---perhaps a 3/4 inch barrel and did not have the ceramic finish. It only lasted a few months and then failed to heat. I really loved it, but had not registered it so it was worthless after a few months. She was concerned about the size of this one as I have short hair. This is not a good choice for short hair. It is slippery and hard to hold the hair. It would be excellent for someone with long hair who likes soft, full curls. I hope it will continue to heat. I am giving it a good rating as it is a nice product, just not great for someone with short, coarse, stubborn hair.
