Having utilized Lockly and competitor products across multiple properties for diverse applications over the past several years, I find the recent facial recognition deadbolt to be the superior solution. Its hands-free unlocking functionality, coupled with the inclusion of two swappable rechargeable Li-ion battery packs and integrated quick Wi-Fi, positions it as the most effective lock I have encountered.

Worth the extra money

I knew I wanted a good lock for new townhouse. This seemed a little pricey, but it was the best rated. It was not hard to install and the best feature is the facial recognition. You have the option of adding family and friends. We were gone and our daughter stopped by to check on the place. Got notification that she was there. Great app and easy to use.

Overall, I’m quite pleased with the Lockly Zeno facial recognition lock. The installation process was straightforward and well-documented, making setup relatively easy. The facial recognition feature works reliably and adds a convenient, hands-free way to unlock the door. My only real critique is the speed—it takes a few seconds after recognizing your face before the lock actually opens. It’s not a dealbreaker, but it does feel a bit slow compared to my fingerprint lock from another brand, which unlocks almost instantly. Still, for those looking for a solid smart lock with facial recognition, the Zeno is a strong contender.

I bought this lock hoping it would be better than the Yale lock I had. The Yale lock used AA batteries that would last a few days at the most. My Lockly deadbolt is still over 90% after two months. Also, I like the fact that I can just walk up to the door and it unlocks.
