Awesome with a few minor issues

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been looking for something like this to add to the rest of the Gladiator products in my garage. The workstation was really easy to put together and took less than 45 minutes, from opening the box to hanging on my GearWall. The directions were clear and the illustrations were helpful. I also appreciated that each of the panels were not only labeled a key number, but also a directional arrow to orientate the panels properly. As with all of the other Gladiator cabinets I have put together in my garage, its important to not to tighten the bolts until everything is square. One thing that is a pain is that you have to adjust the hangers from the back before you hang it on GearWall or GearTrack systems. There's no adjustment from the front after you hang the workstation.
The workstation is very sturdy and not at all flimsy. It will handle general use with ease, but I probably won't be beating on it or use it like a heavy worktable. This thing looks good and compliments my other Gladiator cabinets and shelves.
Now for the minor issues: Mine came slightly damaged. Upon opening the box and laying out the parts, I noticed that the silver worktop is dented and creased. Its not noticable when the worktop is closed, but kinda of a let down nonetheless (see pictures). I haven't let customer service know yet as they were closed when I started on assembly. The second issue is that the worktop does not line up flush with the face of the cabinet. Not sure if there is adjustment, but it is slight and not crazy noticable, so I am not going to dwell on that. My only other issue may be more of a wishlist thing and not much of an issue....I really wish the workstation came in the same width as the ready to assemble Wall GearBox cabinets. It would really be nice if it was more modular like the other cabinets so i could stack my 28inch wide GearBox over it. Its a good quality product that will look good wherever its placed. Minor issues aside, I would still add this to the rest of my Gladiator garage.

Practical addition to the garage workspace

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Lots of open and closed shelf workspace. Very good construction. Needs to be hung lower on the gearWall to allow a comfortable workspace. Surface of the fold down table is stainless steel and slippery. I would recommend that this workspace be made of a more non-slip surface (eg. rubber). Overall great product.

Great addition to my garage space

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I just recently got the fold away work station to place in my garage for a quick convenient place to quickly work on small tasks. I hung the workstation on Gladiator geartracks and found it very easy to hang and very sturdy. The fold down door has pins that lock it in place when closed and a cable chain to keep in in place when folded down. The entire workstation is very sturdy and easy to assemble. Total time to assemble was about 30 minutes and took seconds to hang on the geartracks. I got the fold away work station as a addition to my many other Gladiator pieces that I have. I have a great deal of storage with all of the gladiator cabinets that I have but was lacking a small place to do minor assembly - the fold away work station solved that problem for me. This piece is a must for any garage and it has some storage in it too. I also like that the entire workstation is Installed at a counter height leaving a lot of room under it for storage. This pieces is a must for any garage.

Nice addition to the garage

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The foldaway work station allows for additional work space with a small foot print and looks nice doing it.
Assembly: The workstation requires assembly of the top, bottom, two sides, middle shelf and hinged door. There is no back. All of the bolts are the same size and require the Allen wrench (included) to tighten. Some of the bolts are screwed into the integrated nuts of the various parts and some are used with the included nuts. Gladiator recommends that assembly requires two people... I assembled it myself very easily.
Installation: The workstation can be installed directly to the wall or using either GearWall panels or two GearTracks. Since the workstation has no back, I opted to use GearWall panels so that I can use the various Gladiator hooks inside the workstation. To attach to the GearWall or GearTrack, two brackets are included that are bolted to the back of the workstation which allow the workstation to be slid right onto the tracks. Very easy and a very nice install. With the GearWall, I can move the workstation if I decide later down the road with very little effort. I chose to install my workstation over an outlet that was on my garage wall so that I can use it as a charging base for my battery tools.
Impressions: Like all of my other Gladiator cabinets, the workstation is very well built and looks really nice. The swing down work surface is shiny stainless steel which I expect to eventually get scratched up. Right now it looks really nice. I will most likely get a rubber mat to lay on the shelf when I use it to work on (Gladiator, this would be a nice accessory). I have a couple of Gladiator work benches that have very solid wooden tops that would have been a nice surface for the swing down surface, however, I would assume weight would be an issue. The swing down surface has two cables that hold the surface flat when folded down and a pin on each side that are snapped in when the surface is closed. The system works very nicely and makes it very easy to swing down with little effort. As far as I can tell, there is no way to lock the swing down shelf closed (in case your tools are made of gold). Overall, I really like the system and think it will make a nice addition to my garage.

Convenient cabinet and work station

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was really looking forward to trying this out in my garage, as I always need a bit more horizontal work space. The unit arrived in great condition due to the thick box and internal styrofoam but one complaint I have to state is that the screws and nuts were packed in a very thin plastic bag which split open, which meant I had to search throughout the box to retrieve everything.
The instructions were terse and could have used some larger illustrations. Each part of the cabinet was labelled with a small sticker with the part # and an up arrow. One more piece of information that would have been helpful is "front" vs "back". Additionally, the instructions didn't include attaching the hangers for the wall track until the last page. This meant I had to remove 4 screws from an earlier step to attach the upper hanger.
Once I got it all assembled I was pleased with the results! This cabinet is nice to have at eye-level so that I can place a floor cabinet below it and still use the drop-down shelf. The open shelves provide convenient access to often used items, while the storage compartment is ideal for storing battery chargers for my various tools. Since this compartment includes a cord pop-out I have a power strip here for all my charging needs.
To summarize, other than the assembly process (which could be quicker with better instructions) this is a great work station from Gladiator.

Great storage

Good Use of Space

I have been working on a house that I plan to sell and installed it in the garage at that house for convenience. It holds the tools that I need there and gives me a space to lay things out. I installed it using two Gladiator Gear Tracks. It is very sturdy (and was kind of heavy for me), but had help putting it up. It is compact and I especially like that it folds up to limit the space. I have a full garage of Gladiator cabinets and a work bench at my own house. I really love the look and they are very solid. I store everything from overflow cleaning products to paint supplies and Christmas decorations. This is a really good product. I also want to add that the warranty is the best.
