Very nice speaker for the price but when compared to the Bose soundlink max there really is no comparison imo when it comes to the sound. Bose clearly beats this speaker out in all facets but you’ll pay for it.

Great looking Speaker

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used the product at my cousin bbq. The sound right out the box is not as good as its previous lines of JBL products. To make the sound of the speaker sound better or clearer you need to download the JBL app and make the adjustments on the equalizer. The product is lighter in weight but that’s what I think holds the product from sounding louder maybe because they are using lighter material. I still haven’t been able to figure out how to connect multiple speakers even though both show up on the app they both won’t simultaneously play together. The speaker is very attractive and the ladies loved the strap that comes with it. Overall looks and after JBL app use I’ll give it a 4/5. The sound could be better but maybe with the less weight and less sound maybe that’s where long battery life comes into play.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Terrible sound

I bought this speaker around March and since then it’s made a clicking crack sound once it’s played loud for long (maybe 15 minutes) I would say a speaker with a 28 hour battery life or whatever it claims and at that price point should be able to meet standards. Disappointed to say the least. It’s embarrassing to bring my speaker anywhere because it can’t play for more than 5 minutes

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We recommend connecting it to a different device or resetting the unit by pressing and holding the volume + and the play button until the speaker turns off. I added my name and phone number to the speaker. Looked great on the website. You can hardly see the text in person. Pretty disappointed because my last JBL speaker got stolen.

Disappointly Cheaply Made

Got a personalized 6 a few weeks ago. Showed up looking much more subtle than the website indicated which was disappointing. Personalization means I can't return which quickly became a problem after attempting to put the handle on the speaker. My small fingernail barely caught the speaker as I was putting the handle on and somehow damaged front. At first I thought it was just a scuff that could be wiped off but quickly found it was frayed cloth due to poor design. My previous charge was a 2/3 and by comparison I feel the old model was more durable and better built. The 6 has a kids toy plastic aesthetic that i feel affects the sound quality. Out of the box the 6 does not feel finely tuned and seems to have less punch than previous models. For the price the speaker should also have come with a power brick/cable. I regret my purchase even though it was bought on sale. Had I'd known the personalization would be cheaply mad I would not have done it.

JBL Charge 6 with removable carry handle

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been using JBL Charge speakers since 2015. One thing that stands out to me is how far technology has advanced since the first Charge speaker was introduced in 2013. The Charge 6 is the companies latest iteration of the Charge line of speakers. This model now offers the option to install a carry handle as two hooks have now been added on the top of the speaker. This is a great design as you can add and remove the fabric handle depending on your use case. This is a good looking speaker with or without the handle. Once I paired the speaker to my phone via bluetooth I opened the JBL Portable app which connected to the speaker and indicated the battery was charged to about 67%. The app prompted a software update was available which I proceeded to update. Within a few minutes the update was completed and the speaker restarted. The app allows you to adjust eq setting with four factory presets and one custom setting. The custom setting offers a 7 band eq which allows fine tuning of frequencies ranging from 125 Hz up to 8 kHz. I played a few of my favorite songs and the sound quality is superb. Highs are crisp, mids are clear and lows can be heard and felt. The volume can get loud as well. The speaker has a single USB C port in the back which is an in/out port. While the speaker is on it can be used to charge another device. A battery charge indicator is on a white led light in the front bottom portion of the speaker with good visibility. The physical buttons on the speaker are power, bluetooth, volume up, volume down, play/pause (double tap to skip track, triple tap to rewind track). The battery is rated at 24 hrs of playback on a full charge. I used the speaker for a week several times a day at high volumes and at the time of writing this review the battery had not been depleted. I was amazed I was able to get so many hours of playback on a single charge. The build quality is superb with strong fabric all around the body of the speaker. I can definitely recommend this speaker to anyone wanting a great sounding bluetooth speaker with all day battery life.
Pros: Sound quality, battery life, build quality, JBL Portable app. Cons: No USB C cable provided.
