good sounding & sturdy for long outdoors times

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Likes: good sound clarity but with the jbl signature bass punch honestly i feel jbl is geeting better on the balance between clarity and bass, qulaity build as much as you have plastic most of the body is kind meshy rope cloth and that makes it feel sturdy and durable, overall speaker design, the colors that orange tone in the letters radiators buttons and the usb c port is really well put together, nice touch adding the latest bluetooth version and allowing user to tweak the sound thur the app. the water and dust resistant is a good feature as well. the 2 way set up for the strap is a nice touch
could improve or don't like: I understand that this is aims for outdoors mainly so maybe adding the basi eq buttons or option in the actual speaker? ,maybe for the ease of sound tweaking if you are away from smartphone? . did not like at all that it did not include the usb c cable. maybe dropping the power bank option and consider extending the play time.
There is not much to dislike about the product, the sound quality is good, conectivity is the latest bluetooth version , it is waterproof and has a day of juice to play music on the go, i like how in tiny subtle steps the desing on the jbl portable speaker is improving over the time while keeping the materials and touches tha characterize the brand.

JBL Charge 6 with removable carry handle
on March 9, 2025

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been using JBL Charge speakers since 2015. One thing that stands out to me is how far technology has advanced since the first Charge speaker was introduced in 2013. The Charge 6 is the companies latest iteration of the Charge line of speakers. This model now offers the option to install a carry handle as two hooks have now been added on the top of the speaker. This is a great design as you can add and remove the fabric handle depending on your use case. This is a good looking speaker with or without the handle. Once I paired the speaker to my phone via bluetooth I opened the JBL Portable app which connected to the speaker and indicated the battery was charged to about 67%. The app prompted a software update was available which I proceeded to update. Within a few minutes the update was completed and the speaker restarted. The app allows you to adjust eq setting with four factory presets and one custom setting. The custom setting offers a 7 band eq which allows fine tuning of frequencies ranging from 125 Hz up to 8 kHz. I played a few of my favorite songs and the sound quality is superb. Highs are crisp, mids are clear and lows can be heard and felt. The volume can get loud as well. The speaker has a single USB C port in the back which is an in/out port. While the speaker is on it can be used to charge another device. A battery charge indicator is on a white led light in the front bottom portion of the speaker with good visibility. The physical buttons on the speaker are power, bluetooth, volume up, volume down, play/pause (double tap to skip track, triple tap to rewind track). The battery is rated at 24 hrs of playback on a full charge. I used the speaker for a week several times a day at high volumes and at the time of writing this review the battery had not been depleted. I was amazed I was able to get so many hours of playback on a single charge. The build quality is superb with strong fabric all around the body of the speaker. I can definitely recommend this speaker to anyone wanting a great sounding bluetooth speaker with all day battery life.
Pros: Sound quality, battery life, build quality, JBL Portable app.
Cons: No USB C cable provided.

Another excellent addition to the charge series

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is one of many charge JBL portable speakers that I have acquired over the years. The charge 6 is a further refinement In this line of portable Bluetooth speakers. One complaint I've always had about the charge lineup of speakers is that there's no way to really hold them. The charge 6 come with an attachable strap that makes it easy to carry. The sound is as expected excellent. Deep base with clear highs and plenty of volume for indoors or out. Bluetooth range is excellent and it connects up very easily to my phone. It charges via a USB c port. I had it playing for over 8 hours yesterday on a full charge. I would highly recommend this as an addition to your portable speaker collection or as your first experience in Bluetooth portable speaker sound.

Small but mighty!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This portable waterproof speaker is a powerful and versatile option. It pairs well with other speakers and comes in a compact and convenient size. The strap detail is simple yet effective, making it easy to carry around. While I don’t like having apps for everything, I appreciate that in this case it helps keep the speaker controls simple and reduces the number of buttons, while the app offers customization options to enhance the sound quality. If you’re seeking a portable speaker that delivers high-quality sound, this is an excellent choice.

Durable, Powerful Sound with Impressive Features
on March 13, 2025

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] 1. Durability:
Waterproof, Dustproof, Drop-proof: The JBL Charge 6 boasts an IP68 rating, . It's designed to withstand outdoor environments like poolside parties, rugged adventures, and accidental drops.
Sturdy Handle Strap: The included removable strap is incredibly helpful for easy carrying. Whether you're moving it from the car to the house or bringing it to a picnic, the strap ensures portability is simple and convenient.
2. Battery & Charging:
Fast Charge & Long Battery Life: With 10 minutes of charging providing up to 150 minutes of playtime, and up to 28 hours of total playtime on a full charge (depending on volume), the Charge 6 is great for long-lasting, hassle-free music.
Built-in Powerbank & No Cable Included: The built-in powerbank lets you charge your devices while enjoying music, but a charging cable is not included in the box (unlike the Charge 5), so you’ll need to purchase it separately.
3. Sound Quality:
Loud and Powerful Bass: The sound and bass are loud and of high quality, making it a great option for parties or outdoor events where you need powerful sound
Lossless Audio & Auracast™: The speaker supports lossless audio playback through USB-C for high-quality sound. It also features Auracast™ multi-speaker connection, though it’s not compatible with older models like the Charge 5.
4. App & Usability:
JBL Portable App: The JBL Portable app offers customization options and firmware updates, allowing you to adjust the audio settings to your liking. However, one downside is that JBL uses different apps for each product category (e.g., JBL PartyBox for larger speakers, JBL Headphones for headphones). It would be more convenient if all JBL products were controlled through a single app instead of having multiple apps to manage different devices.
Final Thoughts:
The JBL Charge 6 delivers a fantastic combination of rugged durability, impressive sound quality, and practical features. The sturdy handle strap makes it easy to carry, and the fast charge and long battery life mean you can enjoy music for hours without interruption. The sound quality is loud and clear with deep bass, and lossless audio playback ensures you get the best sound quality possible.
The lack of a charging cable and the Auracast™ compatibility issues with older models like the Charge 5 might be drawbacks, but the built-in powerbank and multi-speaker connection features more than make up for it. The JBL Portable app adds convenience but could be improved with a unified app for all JBL devices.
With AI Sound Boost, and 28 hours of playtime, the JBL Charge 6 is a strong choice for anyone in search of a high-performance, durable portable speaker

Heavy duty with superior sound quality

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This speaker feels heavy duty and has the sound to match, it gets LOUD with really great bass and overall sound quality. Superior sound that I have come to expect with JBL speakers. The battery lasts for a long time which I appreciate. So quick and easy to connect. I'll admit I wasn't sure about the detachable handle when I first got it, but it's actually really nice and after trying it out, I think I'll keep it attached most of the time. Overall I seriously love this speaker!

A Worthy Upgrade with Customizable Sound
on March 15, 2025

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The JBL Charge 6 is an impressive-sounding speaker right out of the box, but what truly elevates it is the new 7-band EQ. With just a little tweaking, you can fine-tune the sound to your liking, making an already good-sounding speaker truly great.
Design & Build Quality
JBL has refined the Charge 6’s build, making it feel more premium than ever. The passive radiator areas now have extra protection, and the new gel-like feet are a significant improvement over the rubber strips found on the Charge 5 and even the Boombox 3. They feel more secure and durable, reducing concerns about wear and tear.
Another notable addition is the removable handle. You can use it as a traditional handle, loop it to the side, or remove it entirely if you prefer a more compact look. Given the speaker’s portable size, the handle is more of a convenience than a necessity—but it’s a great option to have.
Features & Performance
JBL’s Auracast is the new party mode feature, allowing seamless connectivity with other compatible speakers. I tested it with my Go 4 and Authentics 200, and pairing was quick and effortless.
The Charge 6 also supports lossless audio via a wired connection. I tested this with YouTube Music and Tidal, and the difference was noticeable, even though YouTube Music only offers "high quality" audio rather than true lossless. Music, especially tracks featuring guitar, sounded cleaner and more detailed.
Battery Life
Battery life has been as advertised, but to maximize playtime, you’ll need to enable Playtime Boost. While this extends battery life, it comes at the cost of disabling the EQ, which noticeably impacts the sound quality.
Final Thoughts
Overall, the JBL Charge 6 is an excellent upgrade with premium build quality, improved stability, a customizable EQ, and strong connectivity options. It sounds great out of the box, but with a few EQ adjustments, it can sound even better. If you’re looking for a reliable, high-quality portable speaker, the Charge 6 is an easy recommendation.

I LOVE JBL

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Right out of the box, I was simply amazed by the look of this speaker. It looks like they have updated the charge 6 this time to have a more rugged core, to keep those outside speakers safe. The charging port is not covered this time, so I assume if put in water, somehow it will not penetrate te electrical components. Last but not least, a handle!!! I am loving the handle. I have a JBL charge 3 and 4, but I usually grab my Flip first or a smaller one, because of portability. With this added new handle, I will most likely grab this first.
Sound...What can I say, JBL does it again. The mids are fantastic, treble is crisp and clear and there is no distortion what so ever. Of course the bass is amazing. I used this speaker for a bonfire and I got nothing but compliments.
I went with the color black, but camo was really the wanted color here. I like black because it just looks cleaner and matches alot of other things. The battery life on the box states 28 hours. I have not tested this fully, but i played it from noon till around 9pm on high volume.
Once again, JBL knocks it out of the park.
