While the tree is very pleasing to the eye, I was disappointed that the connectors are all light gray. They should be tan or dark tan. They are very distracting as gray. I would give Lego a big whiff on that.

I purchased this product the day it came out. I saw it on the pre release portion of things. It looked great then. I bought the set and took it home and assembled it. Very easy build while looking great. I like that you have some free rein to place limbs and leaves as you please. Once fully assembled it looks amazing. I may be a little biased as I absolutely love Japanese maples. (The real tree). But overall a great product and would definitely recommend for people looking to add a pop of color into their space. Although I do wish that some of the pieces that are attached to various limbs were branch colored instead of being gray, but oh well

Beautiful maple tree. Building lots of leaves is repetitive but of course I knew that would be the case when I decided to get this one, and the lush result justifies all that leaf-building! This was a much easier build than the earlier Bonsai tree - the trunk here is very stable and holds together nicely rather than shedding its pieces when you add later, higher pieces. If you have neither of the bonsai trees and wish to choose one over the other, it’s an easy choice - get this one.

This is a great upgrade from the bonsai , the trunk is so much more stable and easily can be placed without everything falling apart. My only issue is that the leaves build can be tedious but that’s most builds . Absolutely gorgeous when finished

I am a sucker for the Asian influenced sets and the Red Maple hit that spot for me. The build was a pleasure and went together smoothly once I got into the rhythm. I quite enjoyed the color scheme. I was very glad the base didn’t have a random scattering of pieces to mimic dirt or pebbles.
