I had so much fun with this build and love that you can pick between green and autumn leaves. Especially with fall right around the corner. I need more castles!!!
As someone who doesn't have a lot of room for displaying my sets, this Neuschwanstein Castle is small enough to comfortably display, yet detailed enough to give a good overall impression of this iconic Bavarian landmark. Employing some very clever building techniques and spacing out the sections kept the more repetitious parts (all those tiny windows and the trees!) from being too tedious. And the little hidden details are fun to know about, even if you don't get to see them once everything's completed. And it looks great as a display piece, so all in all I'm very happy with this set.
We received this build yesterday and we were only going to build for an hour or so, well 6.5 hours later and it was completed. You are able to use the Lego Builder app to build this with up to four people. We had three of us working on it and we had a blast. This was a great family activity. Love the color contrast and overall it's just an awesome set.
I would recommend this to a friend!

This set was so much fun to build. I particularly liked the base of the model. It’s truly a gorgeous model.
I was really looking forward to this build and the overall result is ok (Fall colors look better), but the scale is so small that you end up with sooo many tiny individual bricks. I would normally have a completed a build this size in a week or so...this took me over a month and I built two other sets in the interim. It was just hard to get into it. One of the bags also had 5 of the wrong pieces (supposed to be solid sand single round pieces and they were gold perforated pieces that didn't match the surrounding brick). I scavenged from my smalls leftovers from many other sets for all but one, but was still kind of annoying. By contrast, the Botanical Garden and Gumball Machine were fun builds. It does go well into my "travel memories" collection, but if you're just looking for a fun build, lego has some better options.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Thanks for sharing your experience building the Neuschwanstein Castle set with us. We're glad you were able to complete your build despite having some wrong pieces. If you get in touch with us at LEGO.Build/Service-BV we can request replacements for you so that you have the right parts!
This went way above my expectations. The details are amazing and I am very pleased to have purchased this set. Although the lack of connection between the base and the castle may feel a little unsecure, this is not something to worry about since this set is meant to be displayed.
For starters, it’s an interesting build with what I consider to be little repetition. The end product makes for a nice display. I realize they may be necessary for the designer to achieve the desired look, but the number of flowers and flower parts is overwhelming. Just add up the number. There are hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of flower parts. Also, they will use two 1x1 bricks next to each other rather than simply one 1x2 brick. Unlike some, I didn’t find any stability issues or difficulty in connecting pieces and having them stay put.
This is probably the most organized, detailed build that I've ever done. Instructions were detailed easy to follow. All parts were there and separated into manageable bags.
