The assembly process was smooth and satisfying, with clear instructions that made it easy to follow along. The material quality is excellent as always—bricks fit snugly and feel built to last. I appreciate the safety features, as the pieces are well-designed for kids 8+ without any sharp edges or flimsy parts. In terms of durability, the bulldozer holds together really well even during heavy play, with a blade and ripper that can move without falling apart. Best of all, the entertainment value is outstanding—between the working pistons, detailed engine, and the included minifigures, there’s plenty of imaginative play to keep kids (and adults) engaged.
This set is a must-have for LEGO fans who love vehicles and construction themes. With 682 pieces, it feels like a rewarding build and an even better toy once it’s complete.

Missed opportunity

The construction excavator (60420) could arguably be considered one of the best sets of all time.
Based on the strength of that build, I picked this up when I was able to find it for 40% off.
I mostly buy official sets to see amazing new techniques, and they mostly deliver. This one does not - it is a very straightforward build, only a couple parts are built with studs on side and there's very little interesting geometry. There's a couple techniques that really shouldn't be used in an official set, with 2x6 plates getting stacked (difficult to disassemble later) and so many plates are overlapped to make the blade that the 2x16 plates actually warp and pull away from the Technic bricks at the edges ("brick bending"). Unbelievable to see this kind of stuff in a modern set.
The play features are very basic - the front cylinders are purely for show and the blade actually falls off if you pull it down while holding the set off the ground. Why Technic axles were used instead of pins is anyone's guess. This is the weakest use of the new Technic cylinders yet, there isn't even a differential so they only move when one track moves. To the designers credit, the ripper is perfect, a clever technique is used to lock the tail fin in place, it's a good re-use of an existing tail fin part for a novel purpose, and it slides smoothly up and down.
Finally, the build is just too big. I get that this is trying to model a D9 or a PR776 but even if they're big they're not **that** big, and the same play features and overall shape could have been accomplished with half the number of bricks and a model that's to scale with other city sets. The size would be forgivable if the play features were there, but the blade that falls off if you press to hard is a joke -- this is a dozer, that's its one job.
Having said all that, my kid loves it, so maybe I am just old and out of touch.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

From the moment I saw it, I knew I had to buy it. This has been my first LEGO City set — I’m not usually a big fan of this series (though I do have a few sets on my wish list) — but this one has definitely opened the door to a whole new collection... very bad news for my wallet.
The building experience was something I absolutely loved — 90 minutes of pure delight. Its shapes, the yellow color, the little elephant... Please, when you build it, take time to enjoy assembling the engine and even pay attention while building the 104 identical pieces. You won’t regret it.
The minifigures are a wonderful addition to any city collection, full of personality. Every part of this Bulldozer was clearly designed with the utmost care.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a really nice set. It has easy to read instructions and assembly. All the parts are labeled in seperate bags wirh numbers to follow instructions. This set would be suitable for kids 8 years and over as well as adults my husband actually built it since he love Legos. It took a little under 2 hours to build. Building the wheel tracks took the most time because of all the little pieces. The bulldozer rolls forward and back and you can see the gears moving up and down and the shovel can go up and down. It also comes with 3 mini figures which was unique to lego sets. Overall, its a nice set that kids and adults would like.
