Too loud

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have owned this machine for a few years. Originally, I owned it in a house and then moved to a condo. Unfortunately, it makes an incredibly loud noise, such that I do not want to be an annoying neighbor or have it go off too early or too late. I also don’t set it as a timer because it makes me jump out of my skin every time I hear it. That negates the use of the grinder, making it an expensive machine that isn’t used fully. It also doesn’t keep the coffee, hot enough.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

To help reduce the impact of grinder noise, try cleaning the grinder chute and bean hopper regularly to prevent excess strain during operation, and experiment with smaller batch sizes, which may shorten grinding time; for hotter coffee, preheating the carafe with hot water before brewing and ensuring the warming plate is clean may help maintain temperature longer. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have the exact same problem that Bill Brogan had 2 months ago… broken filter basket. Any suggestions for how to get a replacement? Otherwise, great product.

We own 2 of this particular coffee makers. One for our home and one for a rental unit. Everyone likes having choices and this coffee maker delivers. My spouse likes to make a pot early in the morning. I’m not an early morning person and by the time I get around to drinking my first cup- I can make a fresh single pod. We occasionally use the grind and brew when we want something different or special, which is also an added bonus! Clean up is not difficult at all.
