My last mixer was purchased in 1968 so you know anything would have been an improvement. However, this mixer is great! It is easy to use and mixes well. My only complaint is that the beaters don't go all the way down to the bottom of the bowl so you need to do a little additional hand mixing. I can do that.

This mixer's performance met my all of expectations except one. The flat paddle used to mix my first cake batter failed to reach the bottom of the mixing bowl. I had to continuesly stop mixing it and scrape the bottom of the bowl to ensure all the ingredients were thoroughly mixed.

This is a great mixer! Everything we have used it for has turned out perfectly. The only difficulty we have is with the Cuisinart "logo" that covers the plug in for attachments. The magnets are not strong enough and it falls off easily.

There is an adjustment screw to set the whisk height, nowhere in the manual will you find that information. YouTube it, otherwise the factory setting will not mix properly...
