Love the final build. I did have a few issues with the back bracing falling off during the build. It was easy to fix until it happened when the picture was finished then it was more difficult to snap the pieces back in and the front pieces then began to fall off. I do make sure everything snaps tight but this set seems to be a little unstable in places. Over all enjoyed the build and it looks good on the wall!
This has been my favorite build to date. I visited the Van Gogh Museum a few years ago and it this Sunflowers painting that stopped me in my tracks. So beautiful and the colors - just magical. That image has stayed with me so when I saw that there was going to be a build based on this painting I was all in. To learn that the Museum played a part in the design and to see all the care that went into the design made this kit a little bit magical too. The flowers are a wonder and the color palette is perfection. I loved building Starry Night but this build took the cake.
I bought this for myself as an early birthday present. I love the Art series because I am a painter. This was a really fun build. Lots of small pieces but it came together beautifully. I loved the fact that I could listen and learn about the painting as I was building. Can't wait to see what paiting you replicate next.
I was so excited to pre order this once I got the email and I couldn't wait the entire month to get it. Out of all of the art builds I own, this is at the to of the list now. I took my time assembling this because, I wanted to enjoy the experience of building up the 3d layers like painting my own masterpiece. The little touches like the leaves and moveable petals is top notch. And the yellow variation throughout is really delightful. I can now appreciate why this version was chosen. Highly recommended set.
I didn't think LEGO could exceed the wonder of "The Great Wave". I was wrong! "Van Gogh Sunflowers" is an amazing build experience and a centerpiece attraction when hung in a place of honor. Everyone who visits and sees this is overwhelmed by the gorgeous display and how it works as an homage not a copy. I decided to add some pieces to add relief to the vase. I regret not changing the build by setting in place the grey base plates for the canvas first then installing all the colors from that point. If you are a stop motion videographer, do that and you even could take paint brushes and make it look like you are painting on the pieces. Be sure after you build this to watch, "How to Steal a Million," staring Audrey Hepburn - you will understand why when you meet "Papa".
This was a great build. Extremely intricate but so fun to put together. Once I finished this, I immediately hung it up in our guest room with other art prints and it looks lovely.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I purchased this for my 65 year old mother who lives 500 miles away. She loves sunflowers and puzzles. My Dad sent me photos of my Mom putting together this piece and was a bit jealous that he wasn't allowed to help. They now have it hanging up in their house and it does look pretty good as art on the wall. They say it reminds them of me as they only get to see me once or twice per year now.
